JT International rocks...

I got some of the 15X15's this time. They are a lot plusher! Should have gotten them the first time. On the 16X16's, I was able to just rip the tag off without damaging the stitching. These however, you must use a razorblade on. One trick I found is to cut the tag on the side facing the outside edge of the towel. It's kind of hard to explain without a picture, but if you were to lay the towel down so that the tag is under the towel, you then would reach under the towel and pull the tag out so that you "bend" the stitched edge and cut the tag right at the edge of the stitching. Another way to think of it is there are two sides to the tag, one faces the inside of the towel and the other faces the stitching. Cut on the side facing the stitching. Hope that makes sense. My brain hurts.

StLB,

I got the Micro-touches b/c Tom told me that although they weren't as plush, they felt softer. Since you have both the Ultrafine and the Micro-touch, which would you say were softer?

I also have both the Microtouch (16x16) and the ultrafine (15x15). I ordered 10 of each. I have been using them for over a month now and here are a few of my personal thoughts.

ULTRAFINE 15x15

All of the towels are great but, i find that i am inclined to reach for the SMALLER 15x15 ultrafine towels. They are defintitely plusher and softer than the 16x16.

I ordered assorted colors. for the 15x15 i ordered 2 gray, 2 green, 2 maroon, 2 blue, 2 purple. As i understand, the quality and consistency varies from batch to batch. In the ones that i got, the GRAY and the MAROON were slightly thicker... hard to describe, but they had extra "mojo" Be warned though, the darker colors BLEED. The maroon and green bled like crazy the first few times i washed them. Also, it is a PITA to remove the labels from them as Stlb explained. I used surgical scissors and tweezers to remove the tag. You dont need to, but i have some at home so i used them.

MICROTOUCH 16x16

I ordered 5 dark green and 5 light blue. Both colors are of the same quality. They are plush, but not as plush as the ULTRAFINE. I do not think they are softer either. They are still great but the next time i order it will be all15x15 ultrafine. The difference in texture is IMO minute, but definitely noticeable. The colors also bled. I guess just wash these towels separately from the lighter ones. The labels are easier to remove.

AFTER 12 WASHES.

I use the oxiclean/ tide powder combo. I handwash these towels every use. I let them air dry. The Ultra is still plusher and softer than the microtouch.

Hope this helps somewhat

the 15X15 are a lot plusher. As for softness, hmm, maybe we need to start defining the characteristics of MF's :P. I'd say they're about the same. All things considered, I'll be buying the 15X15's in the future.

OK, thanks for the info...both of you. Guess it'll be Ultrafines for me going forward.

Bill!! Hey, how are you? LTNS.

Remember my original offer to you? It still stands! :D

JT's towels are great the quality is awesome. i think they are just as good as cma in my opinion. and the service is great ordered monday got them today.

I got my order from Tom today. I tested the waffle weaves and they soak up the water quite well.

I'm surprised that the MicroTouch towels only have nap on one side. Is this done to keep the cost down? None of my other MF towels are like that.

Just got my order of towels in about a week ago and I am somewhat disappointed in the JT MF's compared to my PakShak and Big Blue Towel. I washed the 16x16's on gentle cycle and line dried them and after one washing several showed frayed stitching. Also, the waffle weave was not as absorbent as my Big Blue towel. The prices were great, the service was great, but I prefer the PakShak and BBT overall for value. Just my experience.

I'm SOL. He doesn't ship to Canada. It must be a real pain to get stuff up here. I dunno anymore...

He ships to Canada, or at least he used to. I ordered from him a month or two ago.

Have you asked him about it?

I cant imagine him not shipping here as long as you pay for shipping.

Alot of places ship here, I have never had a problem getting products.

sites that ship to Canada include:

www.tacscar.com

www.properautocare.com(must call them)

and there are many more, from those two you can get most of what you need.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with my MF towels from JT, but I do agree with you on one thing. The waffle weave is nowhere near as good as the Big Blue for soaking up water. In fact, the waffle weave is damn near worthless.

I much prefer the ultrafine (15x15) JT towels to the microtouch (16x16) for detailing. I have not tried Big Blue, but I haven't had any problems drying two vehciles back to back with one 28x54" waffleweave. Much better than the cotton I used to use.
