Well last Tuesday I was "inducted" into a local photography club. I've visted the last 2-3 meetings last May, and now that its starting up for the fall, I decided to join. The main reason I knew about it was because my best friend's father is a "senior member" there so he would always tell me to come. I'm pretty happy about joining it, and hope to learn a lot from them. Quite a few of the senior members assured me that the club is very informal, so I don't need to get discouraged when I see other photos, which are absolutely amazing. I told them before I joined that I don't have lots of experience and that my camera isn't the greatest, higher end P+S, but they said not to worry about it and that some members prefer shooting with P+S and even disposable, so I guess its kinda like Autopia, where process>product or technique>camera. I'm also really happy that the people are very friendly. Apparently this club has a really high reputation in nature according to another new member. Heres a link of the club's site. You can take a look in the photo gallery to see some of the "slides of the year". I think they are very impressive.
