Hey guys, well I haven't been on the forum lately, but I noticed that some of you use AquaPel on your windsheilds over RainX which I was thinking of purchasing, but now i've changed my mind.

Anyways, I live in Toronto, Canada. Can I get a hold of these products in any retailer around my area? If not, can someone suggest me A COUPLE of online stores that carry them please?

Thanks guys/gals!

There was also a thread around here for the STP vision blade which may be the same stuff for $2. If I remember correctly.

Last time I spoke to Ron he said that VisionBlade was discontinued. He said to be very careful buying this stuff because of the age the resins might not preform up to the level you think they will.

:up

Thats why it was so cheap, must be old to. I think Ron's place is going to start to sell the Aquapel as a single item.

Sorry, but we have too many large projects in progress and don't think we will be able to do the AquaPel on the site for a month or so.

Sorry.

Did a full detail today, first time using the new thin Hydro Tech Pads (5.5 Orange) used with PC7424 with Megs 105.......
Two problems occurred, not the velcro detaching but around the velcro the foam started to rip apart in the center, second problem is that the other edges of these pads are extremely soft or not durable, the edge began to separate, meaning small pieces were flying off .....I guess I could have waited until someone else did a review before I made a purchase ...but thought for sure Lake Country would have resolved some of these issues ( maybe my batch is a isolated situation) because other than these 2 things, they are fantastic pads.

Called customer care Felix wants me to take 4 to 5 pictures to have them replaced.....

How much pressure did you apply while polishing? From my experiences with the Hydrotech pads, you do not to use as much downward pressure as you do with the flat pads or the CCS pads. The additional pressure could cause this to happen.

My experience with either of the Hydro tech pads is that they shred too.

I first tried them with my Rotary, and while they cut great, if you didnt watch them carefully so they didnt get hot, they would start to spit out pieces of foam.

I have had better results with my Meguiars G110V2 random orbital or my Flex VRG/3401. They will last longer with these machines; I dont press down really hard for very long, etc., but eventually, they will still begin to separate and slowly but surely start to throw out chunks of foam.

Just completed a full correction on a '07 GMC 2500HD Truck in beautiful dark green metallic, used 5.5" flat white foam and Meguiars D151 x 2, and had forgotten how nice it was to use a durable, non-shredding pad again! :) It was great! :)

Thanks for posting your results with these new guys - souinds like an interesting concept - but Im not too sure I want to get into more pads that eventually break down sooner than later, if you know what I mean.

Interestingly enough, I have queried other Site owners about these new pads, and the general concensus is - they all knew about them for about a year, and decided they were not going to be "safe" enough for their clientele to buy, so they didnt pick them up when they first came out a year ago...

Good luck, hope they can work out for your needs.

I had some HT Pads on my order today and removed them for some Flats instead. Now I've been reading these posts about the problems people are having and I'm glad I changed my mind(again!)

This will happen, as the foam is different. My original Hydro's velcro backing came off with the quickness...... but the thin ones are MUCH better.

To much pressure or catching a edge will cause the problem you experienced so "Easy" in the future.

Spitting out of foam was the first sign and then I removed the pad and saw the tearing apart around the velcro .......I will go back to using the CCS pads, at least I know they won't fall apart...some of the CCS pads I have used for nearly 2 years and I detail allot of cars.

Its not a matter of the Velcro coming off, I never stated that, the concern or issue is that the pad is coming apart around the Velcro and the edges spit out foam (even with the trim taped off) so just the slightest bump against edges and moldings made the edges tear (not a whole lot of pressure was used either) if they are not more durable than that, to me the are not worth owning....I will go back to using the CCS pads...some of those pads I have used for 2 years and I detail quite a few cars per week.

Barry, There wasn't much pressure used at all, being experienced at detailing I knew these pads were not built to with stand allot of pressure, they are just to delicate to me and lack durability...like I said its not the velcro that comes apart its right around the edges of the velcro, not sure if its because the pad is too thing and gets hot and therefore causing it to tear or what....otherwise I do like them, just wish I had not bought so many....usually I always wait on product reviews but I needed some news pads badly so I went with these.

Wendell,

I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your pads. I am not sure why some people have problems with these pads, most do not. We have seen some issues, but nothing alarming. While the pads are excellent at doing their job, they are not as durable as the traditional foams. It is a trade off people except for the level of performance they provide. Stick to the traditional Orange and White and you will not have any problems. If you are unhappy with them, send them back for a refund. It looks like you purchased two Tangerine and one Cyan on your last order. Are these the ones you are referring to? Call Angelo and he can get you an exchange for other pads or a refund.
