Is Zymol Concourse the BEST wax?

I used to use Zymol religiously ....... Then I met Blitz, IHG, P21S and Pinnacle. Never went back to Zymol. Zymol is too hard to work with compared to the above waxes. Zymol spends so much PR on their marketing which in turn results in their high cost, in my opinion.

Me too! Same exact thing happened to me - I used to use Titanium and Concours on my vehicles religiously. Then, I discovered many other products (thanks to the little test we did) - I now flip-flop between products, depending on my mood and detailing needs.

All good - no hate, all love. :D

To break it down:

If any higher-priced Zymol product = nice shine/look

AND

Any decent priced, good wax (ie. S100, blitz, etc.) = nice shine/look

Then

Why would you pay more $$$? Stature? I think P21s/S100 and/or Zaino/Blackfire is plenty good enough for my babies :)

Jngrbrdman- I'm being fair and my question was valid. I have not flamed anyone. If Zymol has the nerve to sell a jar of wax for $1,500.00 then they better understand there will be a debate!

Ray - no issue using your hands...no question you use less product as it doesn't get soaked up in the applicator. As for the smell, it's pretty fruity. My 2 1/2 year old daughter asks to smell it every time I'm working in the garage.

I got hooked on Zymol in the early 90's when I worked at the local Acura dealer. I cleaned cars part time while going to college. I developed a detail program for customers who wanted / needed a complete detail while the car was in for service. I opened a jar of Zymol Carbon or Creme wax with each car, the customer got to keep the remainder of the product. The Zymol distributor was so pleased with the business I was doing selling his product, he gave me three jars of Concours for Christmas one year. Took 4 years to use the first jar, 2/3 of the way through the second, and I recently gave the third to a friend when he got his new 540.

So,edwin 191, You really like the Zymol?

Do You continue to use it ?

Just curious

Serg Conon;)

Based on my experience with tons of canuba waxes, including Zymol and Pinnacle waxes, S100/P21S beats tham all and at a lot lower cost. I don't need a fruity smell or a velvet bag to put my jar of wax in.

Honestly, when a $15 jar of wax outperforms pretty much everything else that is even close in price and many that cost significantly more, there is just no way I can justify paying more than $15 for a jar of wax.

Who knows though, maybe someone will come out with a new wax tomorrow that blows everything currently available away. :nixweiss

But Scott, you were using that old can of Rain Dance when I last saw you.... j/k.... LOL

Serg,

I do still use Zymol Concours for the most part. I did try S100 on my Range Rover last weekend with great results. I bought the S100 when I got my last motorcycle, never thought to try it on the cars.

I'll plan to continue to use it, however the S100 cleaner was significantly easier to use than Zymol HD Cleanse. I've smeared enough Concours on my hands over the years to have the process down pretty well.

One huge benefit of the Concours that most people overlook is the certificate of authenticity. Isn't that worth something? Just kidding....

Jngrbrdman, I certainly understand you not wanting "flame wars" but I don't see anyone of us here "attacking" each other. I see a healthy debate about Zymol and why they charge $1,500.00 for a jar of organic, exotic wax.

I'm still baffled why a sales rep at Zymol would tell me all automotive paints need to breath, like your skin.

Edwin, you got me real curious about your experience with the higher end "Concourse" wax..... I might buy some just to try it out. How is the durability?

I see no reason for this thread to close.

I'm sure Mr. Redcarguy has learned something here!

Look Dude, I'm not trying to start anything with anyone. We all have an opinion and take it as that.

Hey Ray,

Peace brother, I didn't mean you were starting anything, I just meant that that John dude was going to get railed by the members of the cast here....that certainly has nothing to do with you man.....I am sorry if you took it the wrong way.....peace and love to all autopians man:)

No prob Corey.....

For the record during my conversation with the Zymol rep I told him about Autopia.com and I asked him if he would register and contribute. He told me, "I never heard of Autopia.com". I then said no problem just register, come on and speak about your product in a non-selling, non-schilling way. He told me, "No, I don't want to get into a pissing contest".

So hey, I tried!

Doesn't some Dude from Mothers' post here? His name is Forrest? I think it's great to have product reps post here and hey, they can answer our questions!;)

In our tests, Concours durability was around a C- about 3-4 weeks of protection and was the only product to actually suffer "damage" as a result of debris.

I'd put the durability level of Concours at average, at best. I like it because it's what I'm used to. I've seen people try to use it, wait too long to remove it and wonder if it turned to cement.

If I had never used it before, I'd probably stick with S100 cleaner and wax.
