Is this detail cart worth buying?

Found this at lowes. Anyone using this? Looks quite sufficient

I have a small 5.5hp shop vac that'd fit nicely under there.
Might grab it tomorrow if its still there.
or my steamer would fit nicely. ..i really dont need a detailing cart but man i want one. I bet it will be more appreciated once used.
 
I've always wondered how useful one would really be.
It would just get in my way, but if you have the room, give it a try.
 
Can't go wrong for 100 bucks, Rubbermaid makes quailty carts. Easy to keep clean and nothing to really rust out being as its going to be around product/water. Once you get a cart you'll wonder how you ever lived without one!
 
I can't really see the size of it? I have a cheap Harbor Freight 3 shelf cart I use. The only bad part about mine is the width when polishing. It just isn't wide enough for any of my polishers to lay flat on it without 1/3 of the polisher hanging off. I have to set my polisher long ways and it takes up a ton of room. Just make sure you have one that meets your needs. I liked the idea of a third shelf and love how I can place all the bottles I use the most on the middle shelf and have them quickly. I also added plastic pegboard to mine so my brushes stay with me also.
 
I have this exact one and it clogs up space for the few times I've rolled it out. I walk miles during wash detail oh well.

This is what I use for polishing tray works mint, and not overly expensive. Helps out a lot when your correcting paint on a daily basis!

Who is it made by? My only problem is I am very limited on space in my garage. I pretty much have to plan out anything and everything that goes into my garage. Lol
 
i love the idea of having a cart but i cant justify having a huge cart take up my garage space. i have a folding hand truck for my buckets when i wash. i use them to put brushes/bottles on too. when i polish, i fold out both work benches on each side of the car as a seat/table

The one with the bottle holes is nice.

I'm the same as Donbeezy, I don't have the space for one and couldn't even wheel it around a car in the garage anyways.

Will get a dual bucket dolly one of these days. I have all the products i need short of a few poorboys things i will end up buying.

Now it's just tools/equipment and storage stuff I'm focused on.
And of course finding more jobs so these products don't go lonely. :)
 
I have that cart. It's fine for what I need. I keep a steamer and a spotter on the bottom and the chemicals towels and other junk on top.

I don't always use it properly because not it's got so much stuff on it that I can't fit my detailing stuff in it.

I will need to clean up the garage for real.
 
Well, if you are washing the vehicle AND Detailing the Interior outside, the cart would be so invaluable..

I have 2... they break down in like 1 minute if I need to do that, and they can hold all the things you need to wash, and Detail the Interior, so you don't have to keep going back and forth, or have everything on the ground...

I put all the bottles of cleaners, glass cleaner, conditioners, etc., along with all the towels I will ever need, and hook a plastic long trash can to the end of it to catch all the towels as I use them up...

I even put my VX5000 on it.. Had to get some thick hard foam to go under it since the cart is a little deep, and the the hose for the Steamer comes out low..
No problem, just put the hard piece of foam under it, the steamer is raised high enough, and that too, sits in the cart, along with a blue plastic 2 hole carrier with the handle in the middle that has all the small tools, brushes, etc., I will ever need and not have to get out and go back into the garage...

My 2 carts are black plastic with a top tray and a bottom tray, no middle tray.. But that's fine.. I would rather have a big space down there in case I have to bring a small air mover or something with me when I first go out there in the driveway...

Everyone will have their own custom Process for how they do this stuff.. I just got tired of walking back and forth to the garage cabinets for stuff... :)

im in the same boat with tools/storage. i have an overhead storage coming in next week so i can throw my non-detailing items up overhead. i need another cabinet soon. i thought products took a ton of space but towels/pads are even harder to store

btw, i think bucket dollies are a big footprint too. i just use the hand truck to pull my buckets around
 
If you have a closed with drywall ceiling or are planning on putting one up, I would seriously consider installing a pull down aluminum ladder from H/Depot between the joists, and then going up there, wire up whatever you are going to wire (because its so much easier - especially if your panel is outside or inside the garage wall), and put at least 1 4-foot 2 tube light, with a pull chain or a switch on it, get some of Lowe"s 29/32", 4 x 8'masonite type board, have them cut it into 4 equal pieces, get some deck screws and your good drill,and go up there, insulate if it you already have the ceiling, if not, build a floor so you can then store ALL that stuff you want out of the garage but still may need it sometimes...

If your garage is high peaked in the center like mine is, you can actually walk around up there once you have the floor... I love it !

Any garage ceiling can be a huge area of wasted space that could be used for storage if you want to do this...

If anyone wants to talk about this in detail, let me know, I have done 3 of these now... I know, I need to quit moving... :)

The pull down door comes with these really nice shocks like you would use to hold a hatchback lid up in the air, and are very compact and totally quiet..

If you wanted to set up electrical for lights to keep it all in the ceiling this would be really easy to do first, or even say nice speakers all around and then your components on top of your cabinets or in one of the cabinets, etc...

Yeah, I have a TV out there so I can watch the start of Formula-1 starting this weekend, I'm out there... :)
