Is Souveran really worth it?

I would buy it again. Over the top of Wolfgang which I thought maybe could not get any better, an application off Souveran added, depth, gloss and wetness. Very impressed.

I cant wait to try Souveran...mine should be arriving at my house any day now! Now if we could get a couple of days without rain in the forecast that would be great!!! Those that use Souveran, did you use thier qd, crystal mist yet....I ordered that as well and want to know what people's thoughts are on it.

Yes, I used the mist, and it kicks ***. Enhanced the shine and made the surface super slick!

With the right prep and a perfect polish job, I can't see how it would not look good on any car.

The black escalade I did this weekend came out great. I'm gonna use it on my steel grey BMW in a few weeks, after an intensive cleaning and polish, the metallic should really pop.

i just orderd some for my car can't waite to see if it makes a big difference on my mystichrome paint.

Don't expect a *big* difference but you should notice more depth. Where I notice the biggest difference with Souveran is the way the panels look at an angle. Not sure how to describe it, I guess just intense depth. :nixweiss

Scottwax, I have a metallic paint. Should I stick to using the Pinnacle Signature series wax which is especially for metallic paint or can I use the Souveran wax. Will the Souveran also look great on a metallic paint? I already have some Signature wax but with all the talk about Souveran it makes me want to try it.

Thanks for you help.

Funny, I was about to ask the same question. I'm reverse though, I've been using Souveran on my oceanic pearl blue Solara and it looks amazing.

Then I heard about Signature and was wondering how much if any difference there would be.

Somedevil,

On my Lexus, the Souveran was leaps above Signature. P21S was in the middle in terms of overall looks. I just did not have much luck with Signature despite favorable things I heard.

I agree with Lee on Souveran being leaps above Signature, at least on my silver metallic paint. Signature looks nice but it just doesn't give the same results as Souveran or even the now unavailable Paste Glaz. I want a slick surface, a wet glass like look, and for the metallic to really pop out at you. Signature was great at making the metallic "pop" but it left a lot to be desired for slickness and leaving the wet, glass like look.

Of course, this is all my opinion so take it for what it is worth. ;)

Lee and TW, thanks for the replies! I wasn't planning on buying any wax this year with Sourveran, #16 and P21S all sitting in my garage..then I heard about Signature series and had to ask...I'm glad I did!

One thing I found with P21S is that on my wifes Flint Mica (kind of a dark gray) RX 330, P21S looks nearly as good as Souveran. But on my Solara, Souveran is the far better choice. Don't know why though.

No intent to hijack the thread but TW? How are you liking your Solara? Its been a damn fine car for me so far at nearly 20K miles...moonroof is kinda noisy all of a sudden though.

Thanks again guys!

somedevil,

I like my car. It has a few issues that need to be looked at at the next oil change (two dash rattles, steering clunks when turning right, squeaky sunroof/moonroof) but overall, it has been a great car to date. Love the drive train (3.3L V6) even if I do have transmission lag at times. What model do you have?

I've got a 2004 SLE V6 too. I had the misfortune of getting one from the first run which had a serious left drift problem that was no fun to deal with. I had to wait for a TSB to come out, and even then, I had to tell my dealership about the TSB.

Other than that, aside from a sporadic rattle near the rear speakers and this issue with the moonroof it has been great.

The tranny lag is something I'm used to and have come to accept. My wifes RX 300 which we had on a lease, and now the RX 330 both showed the same lag.

Souveran looks good on metallics as well, although I'm not sure you'd get enough of an improvement over Signature series to be worth the cost. I haven't used Signature though so I must defer to those who have used both products.

Honestly, if you are really wanting to try something else, how about Natty's Paste? It won't have the shimmer of Souveran but it looks very wet.
