Defined to me as snowplow fragments, brake dust, etc., mixed with road salt and water.
When splashed on a vehicle is sticks and becomes a little speck of rust.
I drive a white 2007 Ford F150, and I live in western Michigan.
I have been struggling with "industrial fallout" all winter. I only hand-wash my truck, and the only time I can do that is when the temperature reaches 45 deg. or so. Which hasn't happened very often this winter.
I did apply wax to the truck in October.
When I wash the truck I have to gently rub the spots with my fingernail to get them to come off.
I'm looking for suggestions on how to get the spots off, and keep them from coming back.
I've lived in Michigan all my life, and I've owned many of different vehicles, but I've never experienced anything like this before.
I would really appreciate some feedback from people who have experienced this problem, and what you have done about it.
Thank you,
Tim
