I want to give away a ton of LC's NEW Cool Wave CCS Pads

Havent tried LLC before, but in the process of learning paint correction with my standard rotary buffer
I think that "ihaveacamaro" has the right idea about interior pads for vinyl hard surfaces. That would seem to make interior cleaning even more effective. Its hard enough to get stains and for example "gum" off hard surfaces, maybe something like a light weight MF foam type of material or something along those lines.

Whhhhaaaaaat, I did not notice that. And wow, that's a pretty clever ideal to use your clay. Well a pad with the stuff like on the speedy prep towel would be a better permanent ideal, otherwise it's back to thinking for me.

I am still new to detailing and have only used my GG 6" a handful of times and have only used the pads that I bought with the machine from GG. The only thing that comes to mind is that I am eventually going to have to clean the carpet and the upholstery. I don't have a steam cleaner so what came to mind is a pad that has a short bristle on it, say about 1/2" to an 1 inch in length that are soft to medium stiffness. I think it would be slick to be able to work in some carpet cleaner and agitate it with the 6" RO machine before vacuuming it out. I know I would like to try it on my floor mats, they are already getting dirty and only part way into winter. Not sure how it would work but was the only thing my shallow mind could come up with to get entered into this contest. LOL.

have you seen the nanoskin autoscrub? It is EXACTLY what your are thinking of. It's not LC though

Nice thing simple 5.5 pads with new cool wave technology!

You can never have enough pads.

How about a all purpose pad that can be used for Compounding, polishing, waxing .One colored pad for everthing. MY mmachine takes 6 inch pads.

3inch micro pad and maybe more cushion in there micro pad for ease of transition i like using the 5 in on 6 inch back plate but would really like a smaller pad on 3 in back plate

I'd like to see some pads made for the interior... I think a whole new class of pads could be made.

1) Pads for a deep clean for upholstery that can take stains out (to replace what I use now, which is a stiff upholstery brush)

2) Pads for a light clean of upholstery when you don't need as aggressive measures

3) Pads designed to be super soft for leather, yet clean them (ie something to replace the horsehair brush I use)

4) Pads designed to apply protectant (also replacing another horse hair brush I use)

5) Pads designed for vinyl seats

6) Pads designed for cloth seats

7) And finally, pads designed to clean out scuff marks from plastic... the bane of my interior detail!

You should both check these out. Carpet & Upholstery Brushes for Dual Action Polishers

I cannot tell you how much time and energy these save when doing carpets and mats. I use the blue one the most. The white one is a little too stiff for some carpets. The soft one works well on coated leather and vinyl, but wont remove scuffs.

Need something even more gentle? Try a Foamed Wool pad.

One thing to be careful of with either is the throw/offset of the machine. When working up close to plastic pieces it can bounce off and cause breakage or scuffing. On seats it could tear the fabric/leather when you try to get too close to the adjacent parts.

Also, watch out for sling. Your APC will end up all over.:( I speak from experience.:wall

Brand new here first post, just picked up this hobby for my new Lexus.

What about a brush is round, a little larger than pad size, that sits on a surface and I can quickly use on my pad while on the buffer/polisher at a low
Speed if It gets a little over saturated. I know the grit guard exists but it's a big bucket and for extensive cleanings.

Also what about a dual color pad? The top color and material is as Normal but the second layer is placed so that pad wear level can be checked and monitored, especially by us newbies lol.

I read a lot of great suggestions and seems like almost every idea I had was already mentioned - except 1. The centering hole that rotaries use, you see on wool pads, why not along with making the pad (foam)fit the backing plate perfectly - add a hole in the middle and center it like a wool pad.

I think that a Dual Action wouldn't be able to because the center of the pad changes as the pad oscillates, unlike a rotary where the center is always fixed in one position.

A redesign on the cut of the 5.5 low pro flat pads. make them more square with a slight bevel on the bottom edge.

Id love to give these pads run. Interesting to see what LC is coming up with these days.

Great idea for a pad cleaning brush! Generally the nylon pad brushes work great but do require you to turn the machine on and press it against the pad.

Pad wear usually doesn't occur to the level or in a way that a dual foam pad would work. Plus the dual foam would require glue to hold the two layers together, which would badly scratch the paint the second it contacted it.

I'm talking about "centering" the pad on the backing plate. If you have used LC wool and a rotary, you know how easy it is to slide the centering tool/plastic thingie in the pad, stick it in the hole on the backing plate and slide the pad down - perfect alignment! On a PC, if you get it to far on one side it'll vibrate more than usual, that's one reason I liked the Edge system - perfect alignment. It seems easy enough to modify the foam, just need some DA backing plates with a center hole like the rotary ones.

Oh I misunderstood you! Yeah that would be nice if LC made some of those, if you're not particular about brand though, there are self-centered logic pads from Chem Guys that do something similar!

I'd like for LC to do something to improve the durability of the hydrotech pads. I really like the cut and finish they provide but they don't fair well over the test of time
