Klasse 16 oz. ~ 20 bucks.....1 oz per application....2 applications per year......8 years
$20/8years......~$160/64 years - plenty of detailing years
Same with SG - ~$20 - say 4 layers (4 oz.) every 6 months....2 years
$20/2 years....~$640/64 years - again, plenty of years....
TOTAL: 64 years (average) worth of Klasse......$800
Now how is Zymol Vintage a bargain my man??? Just my $.02
LOL........:xyxthumbs :bow :wavey![]()

Jngrbrdman said:I can see that. I think the reason that Zymol gets bashed is because it costs 3 times more than it is worth. They advertise it sooooo much and that price shows up in the cost to the consumer. The rational that just because it sells means it can't be all bad isn't totally accurate.![]()
Avalanche said:By whose measurement does it cost 3x more than its worth? Thats an unsupported opinion, nothing more. I for one cant remember seeing a Zymol commercial, never mind an ad for one of their top end waxes. While I dont want to toot Zymols horn or back up any of their products, becuase I dont use them, if it didnt work, didnt sell, and make the company money......Well you know the drill. Zymol has a huge following and avid supporters the same as any other product. It's important to realize whats said here isnt the end all fact, (insert huge, surprised gasp here) just the popular opinion of the board.
OK!..........Flame on!! :argue
Jngrbrdman said:The value in this wax is in the size. A container of Vintage is 22 ounces. A jar of P21S is 6.2 ounces. So the Zymol is 3 ½ times larger. If you were to go through one container of Zymol per year then that would be equivalent to $3000 dollars worth of P21S. In that sense it is a good deal. However, unless you are using this every single day on all kinds of cars then it would take you forever to use that much wax. It would only be a benefit for detailers who are detailing $25,000 paint jobs on a regular basis. I don’t know that there are very many people out there who would be in that situation.
The only reason I say it is three times more expensive than its worth is just my calculation based on the amount of wax an average person could use. This is my math to support my claim:
If you used 1-½ jars of P21S per year for 40 years then you would only use 372 ounces of wax. That is only 16 refills on the Vintage. That is, however, the same basic cost of wax. Roughly $4 bucks an ounce.
Using this amount of wax is the only way that it would be economical to use Vintage. If you use less than 1 ½ jars of P21S per year then it wouldn’t be worth it to purchase $1400 bucks worth of wax in advance.
If you use half a jar of wax per year then Vintage would effectively become 3 times more expensive. I don’t know how much wax you guys use, but based on the amount of wax it takes to do a car, I’d say that half a jar is a pretty reasonable amount to assume the average person would use. I could be waaaaaaay off base there. Maybe the average user uses more wax. They would have to use 1 ½ jars per year to make it worth it though.
edit: Yes it is an opinion, but its not unsupported. And its popular opinion that elects presidents; not facts.![]()

If Vingage is 22oz and P21s is 6.2oz. Say you blow through 1 can of vintage in a year, that's like blowing through 3.5 cans of P21s. That's (rounding up to 4 to account for the half) 100 bux. I fail to see how you got 3000 out of 3.5 cans of P21s.
Jngrbrdman said:Whoops. Typo. I meant $1500. Sorry. I'm a law student, not a mathematician.
However, if you used 3.5 cans of $25 dollar wax in a year then you would blow through $3000 worth of wax in 40 years. Maybe that is where I got that number.
