Hurricane Harvey

well its a good thing it was cat4 before it hit but was only cat3 when hit and now downgraded to cat1 but Harvey (my grandpa) always liked the coast and fishing so I guess that`s why he`s staying around a bit longer

I can`t believe all the FB posts I`m getting from my buddies in Houston and how it`s looking for them in just day 1 of what is supposed to be DAYS of this.

Actually not too bad by me now . Tornados throughout the night last night pretty close to here. We lost power for a couple hours this morning. Lots of wind and rain!

McKees Hydro Blue on my truck is getting a work out...

the glass coating seemed to work very well in the rain earlier. I didn`t even have to turn my wipers on.

Houston getting flooded.. not a good scene from the reports and pics. Yes there was more devastation at Corpus where the hurricane made landfall, but not the population impact of Houston. Glad I am dealing with it in Austin area.

this is from the NWS, wow

just standing outside and looking up you can see the drape of white clouds swirling

we`re under flash flood warning in Kyle but so far no issues here for me

I heard they were expecting the same amount of rain (almost) this week

Yes it`s pouring worse now than when the hurricane hit.

What is even worse is they are letting water out of the reservoirs which will cause even more flooding to protect downtown Houston and the ship channel. That is what is going to hurt the area I live in. It`s gonna cause the river to rise above its banks and flood the area around us.
For the last few days they`ve been telling people not to evacuate, so most of us didn`t. Well as of yesterday evening, they came with mandatory evacuations, but most cannot get out because of the road flooding. Pretty much sucks.

Were still dry, no flooding, were ok thank goodness.

The picture of the sink hole posted earlier is about 2 miles from me.

I want to post some smart ass answer.
But, honestly - I dunno what I would do if that happened where I`m at. Good luck everyone in TX
