they said if you`re escaping to San Antonio you need to go further...wow

Those gulf hurricanes are always scary with storm surge pilling up with no where to deflect to. As Ron said stay save and good luck.

this guy on the weather channel "see these dunes here? the problem is these dunes are gonna be washed away" NO JOKE?

I`ve got family and friends down in Corpus and Matagorda Bay area - they are freaking right now. doing what we can here to provide a base in College Station. Hopefully just really wet and not too much weather in these parts.

yea im worried for all those folks down near that area...its looking like its gonna be pretty terrible and they say its gonna just hang out and stall past the weekend most likely

I can see SA having major flooding due to the rains.. I`ll be surprised if Austin area doesn`t see flooding as well

here are some pics I dug up from the "100 year flood" we had two years ago I think when the rivers ran over and all hell broke loose

I don`t think it`ll be as bad this time but Im almost 200 miles from the coast and they`re saying flood here in San Antonio and Austin.

Now those folks closer are the ones I`m worried about.

this was my street, a white water rapid river

Going further north changes the threat - goes from wind and rain to possible tornadoes as we sit at the bottom of that alley. Might be a rough weekend to hit Double Dave`s in Austin

Be safe and after that please get some beading shots of the various LSPs. JK

Take care.
Can see Brandt heading to where the action is, trees blowing over, stop signs flying past his ears, boats going down the center of the streets, all the while he`s taking pictures to see whether it sheets or beads. :) God be with you folks down there.

We rode out the last hurricane when we lived in Brownsville. This one makes me really glad we moved 600 miles north!

People here are lined up to get gas. The costco near me, had a line of cars that wrapped around several times in the parking lot, and still continued 2 blocks south on the feeder to 59. (this was wednesday, thursday night and this morning)

People here are kind of going nuts. I see reports of people panic buying bottled water and batteries on the news. I saw at Sam`s they had to institute a limit of 1 case of water and 1 pack each of size of batteries. At Krogers, the store looked like the storm had already hit.... I saw one smart guy with a basket full of nothing but beer. (lotsa beer but cheap lonestar beer)

Should make for a fun couple days.

Schools have been cancelled today and monday.

We aren`t going to get a direct hit, but we`re gonna get pounded with lots and lots of rain.

I bought a case of lonestar! I actually had somebody call me and want a detail this weekend...I was like..umm have you seen the weather forecast? I`m not pulling my car out of the garage this weekend. (unless of course I decide to have a beading contest between my car and truck- haha)
