How New is Brand-New? 2010 Camaro off the dealer lot Restored by AutoLavish

if we were to ever try to pass something off like that where i work (chevy dealer) we would be canned instantly. i have seen some stuff come in on dealer trade that was much worse than that beleive it or not, that was detailed and ready to go supposedly. but you were right about the salespeople being a new cars worst enemy. i know of instances when we were all gone and they delivered a car, they would just hose it down and dry it. no soap no nothing, quick rinse and dryt. unreal.

Very impressive rebirth. But seriously - no radio?

its there. you can see it in the last pic. just no premium sound. a lot of them that we have sold have been just like this rs, equipment wise. they sure didnt look that bad.

Good work!!! As a former car salesman, I truly cringed whenever I sold brand new vehicles (Volkswagen's) that are 100 times more swirled than my black daily driver. Time is money in dealers, which doesn't let the detailers give good work. A lot of the detailers I have worked with in dealerships actually are pretty decent, but management forces them to be hacks to save time.

Damn guys, it looks like a new car now :)!! Nice work! Soft paint??

Thanks buddy :) I'd rate the paint as medium hardness

Nope camaro's have pretty hard paint - close to a vette.

close, but not quite. I'd still put it in the medium category along with most of GM's stuff

Stunning work guys! :bow

Much appreciated

It totally blow my mind ( or what is left of it) how a dealership can deliver a car in that shape and consider it to be "clean".... :grrr:think::nervous2:

You guys are a "dynamic duo of detailing!"

Thanks a lot Gonz. We surely we surprised as the poor condition but were happy to help turn it around.

Thanks for the kind words :)

Great work gentleman. Nice looking car. What does one have to do for a nice AutoLavish T-shirt? I loved them. Way to come yet again!

Ha! Tell you what man - let me know you're size and when we finally get together for the Presidential + AutoLavish job, we'll exchange shirts. I'd rock a Presidential shirt in a second!

It's amazing the damage that dealers do to new (and used) car paint. Hard to believe that they could do that amount of damage in that short period of time, but seeing is believing. Nice work on a really sharp car!

I laughed at the "Test Me" on the windshield -- I guess dealerships never change!

Haha! No doubt and it is pretty sickening to see. Luckily nothing a little hard work can't change :)

Outstanding work, guys! Another tick on the board for "perfect from AutoLAVISH" :2thumbs:

Thank you for the kind words Aaron. Hope you're doing well out in Cali - I'll finally be visiting your state in August for an old army buddy's wedding (soCal) and I look forward to it!

That is some of the worst DISO (dealer installed swirl option) that I've seen. Nice work.

(The worst I've seen was regrettably a 100K BMW alpina coupe in black with swirls you could see from 10 feet away). Still waiting for a weekend to take the DISO out of my car :(

Very much so. Very sad story about such a beautiful BMW - hopefully she'll come out OK :)

In a perfect Autopia world the new cars would come like that from the dealer, but they don't so Great Job guys. Thanks for the great thread..

Agreed. Of course... they do help keep us in business...

Yes indeed - we always do (don't always take pics though)

Nice work. That car was beat for a "New" car. I bet the owner was really happy with the end result.

Very much so! Always exciting to have a NEW new car!

I have to agree you did a great job !!

You did not happen to send Gordon Chev. a notice of what a vehicle should like when sold.

For a new car there was alot of etching (lack of care), and I'll bet that they wanted top dollar for the camaro with all the special features that you found.

:hifive:

I agree Mike - one of the worst things is how stealerships will continuously rip off people with something in sub-par shape

Thank you - Jacob wrote this one so I'll forward to favorable review :2thumbs:

Unreal and sickening to treat someone's future large purchase in such a poor manner :(

Thank you - and as you've likely read from the other comment - it has a radio ;)

Very true. Time is money. Many people ask how they can have such messed up cars for sale, and the truth is that everyone has messed up cars for sale so none look too poor in comparison to anyone else's.

Sad truth...

It baffles me how dealers treat their new cars... especially the ones that are $40K+. If I'm dropping 40, 50, 60K+ on a car, it better be f'ing PERFECT.

Outstanding job fellas. I can't believe dealerships want to advertise their business by adding stickers to the paint. They should discount the price of the car for advertising.

Amazing turn around guys! I'll be up near Toledo in August, I might have to stop by and see you guys in action.

Same here. Yet another reason many people believe in buying "used" cars

The worst part was the owner had the dealer remove the racing stripes from the car. So the dealer took off the stripes, then proceeded to add a sticker? Unreal. To say the least this place would never get my business.

Not far at all - just over an hour away. Thanks for the kind words!

That is fantastic work! Hats off...

BTW, this is going to sound kind of odd but what kind of power washer are you using and what kind of soap dispensing attachment are you using to get it to foam up like that. Most of the power washers I see only have the feed lines and the soap does get pushed out at a high pressure.

Thank you for your response!
