How many 16x16 MF`s can you fit in 1 load?

When I use to detail I never paid close attention to tracking supplies and washing towels and stuff. I do remember I didn`t have enough towels (waterless wash) so I`d end up having to wash them every few days. My towels were all stolen and I`m pondering how many I`d need to order so I`m not doing laundry every day or 2. Well I know at least 50, probably 100. But it me thinking how many towels I could actually fit in a load. I have a 4.9 or 5.0 cubic foot top load machine with no agitator. I know towel size and GSM`s will make a difference. I`m looking at some 16x24 370 GSM towels. An article on AGO says 12 average size MF`s make for a good small load. I`m assuming average = 16x16. Looking at my washers drum it seems to me I could get a lot more than 24. Anyone here who washes a ton of towels ever count out how many they could fit in a single load?

I usually do a wash when any section of the hamper gets full.

I have

Drying /glass towels

Regular use on paint towels

Dirty jobs towels.

I’d say that I was 20-3O at a pop and I have a front loader. Samsung.

For the dirty jobs I soak them in a citrus degreaser before washing. These are wheel, engine and exhaust towels.

Just did a load last night I’m a Samsung HE front load.

9x 16x16 TRC Eagle edgeless

2x 28x20 PFM’s

2x 16x16 PFM’s

1x 16x23 pluffle

1x 30x20 random wheel towel.

4x 16x16 AG green towels

7x 16x16 random TRC towels

3x 16x16 Everest

30 towels fit fine and wash well. I use 9-10 wdgeless for a rinseless so I’d get 10 done with a 100 rinsless towels.

Get a good microfiber cleaner. Griots you mix half and half with a F&C detergent and towels come out soft and as absorbent as day one. Mixing it makes it economical

Are "regular use on paint" wax towels or like APC, WW, etc towels? Cause I didnt see and wax towels in there.

This is how I spilt them up
Wax
Windows
Everything else lol (but like you I pre-soak the really bad ones)

My regular towels are my higher quality paint safe towels used for bird bomb removal, waterless washing. , APc and other misc cleaning jobs. I don’t use waxes or sealants anymore unless it’s a specific customer request. I have some older high end beauty waxed the are still good but most of my sealants have spoiled and been tossed.

My Electrolux HE does infinitely better when I keep the loads very small. It`ll accept a ton of stuff, but the performance drops off drastically. Even with household textiles and clothing, sticking to quite small loads makes all the difference, especially with regard to rinsing `em.

That "12 regular-size MFs" sounds about right. That`s right around the limit for MFs/washcloths/anything I really care about getting clean. Sorta bugs me since it seems like such a tiny load (it`ll hold a *LOT* more and the manual says that`s fine), but hey...it`s all about what works best and I learned what that is through experimenting.

No such issues with the older agitator-style Kenmore. I can really load that up and still get OK results, although I don`t overdo it.
