Gotcha on the engine cleaning....the car is only 1 month old, I'm sure I can go another month or two...it'll be alot of work (and anxiety) just going through the 4 or 5 steps to do the exterior right, using my polisher, using the MF towels, etc.
When I do start engine detailing, is there a quickie-list off the top of your heads as to what I need? I presume the interior stuff is best purchased online, not available at most stores, as with all the exterior stuff I bought?
One reason I want to read up more on engine cleaning is my dad told me years ago he cleaned his and he put something on the engine/wires/something that prevented the engine from starting (I guess this was early 1970's, not sure). Anyway, even though he knew a decent amount about cars, he had to call his bro-in-law for help (a real expert) to figure out what the hell he screwed up. When I mentioned to him I eventually want to clean the family car engines, he mentioned this to me. I figure today's engines/interiors are better covered/protected than cars of yesteryear so hopefully this problem doesn't happen on our cars (1994, 2001, 2004 models).
