honda or toyota?

Hell i can't remember the word that was used. Its kinda like they joined together to buy certain parts and resources from the same company to cut costs, not necessarily do they use the same stamped sheet metal(now that i reread my text it does imply that) I can't find the link now because it seems that xm radio has signed a contract with the two to put their radios into the two companies cars so that all im able to find. i'll see if the other forums archive has it.

Xm radios are all over the place in the OEM. About the only thing I could see the two of them doing is buying steel together.

As far as the Sonata looking like the Accord posted above I'll just say that once you see the Accord in person you'll change your mind.

sorry I can't find it the archives haven't worked since the server switch and I guess they dont intend on fixing it.... I'l try google again

SpoiledMan,

I can't wait to see the accord in person, i really hope it looks better then the pics. I'm a bit underwhelmed by the styling, but i really like the interior...though I felt the same about the last one and it grew on me.

:P my dad is on the waiting list for the accord (8th Gen). He is disappointed that the trunk didn't get any bugger but he loves everything else. I just think it isn't so nice that the EX doesn't come with Leather, when a current EX comes with leather. I have a feeling that it will be too expensive to sell really well. It is also getting bigger and bigger every year! It is expected to cost about the same as an Audi A3 (I am looking at them). Too much money+ too large of a car might not sell too well.

For the last couple generations of the Accord there has been the EX and the EX-L. The L gets leather. Don't worry about sales as it will outsell the Audi 10 fold. The Audi is what a compact? The Accord is a full size car now. Someone shopping the two cars is confused at least.

Honda FTW!

Bought my 1995 Civic coupe for $2800. Turboed it and currently making 272WHP on 10psi for about an extra 3k.

chassis has 197k and motor has about 3k now. Daily driven. It's fun driving a 272whp 2400lb car. :woot2:

Sometimes its more like, :scared:

They're at my local dealers so I saw a couple today. I didn't stop and look but you can tell it's larger than before.

Really don't think you can go wrong with either from a practical standpoint. Generally speaking Toyota is a softer ride and Honda is a bit more of a driver's car. My wife had a bulletproof Celica GT when we first married and I have had 3 Accords. Now she drives a 2002 CRV-EX (which may be the best overall of any of them to date) and I drive a Toyota (well sortof....Lexus GS400). Whether you trade one (hard to beat the resale) or drive it forever both brands are pretty much worth every penny compared to anything else.....so just find the one that suits you personally, do the routine maintenance, and happy driving! Don't forget to wash, polish and wax more than any normal human being.

well, i went to the dealership since i had some free time today and all they had were the sedans and no coupes. it seems to be longer than the previous gen accords, and not to mention all the dark colored ones had DISO all over them :down . i also noticed a brand new fit on the lot that was keyed on one whole side, i just don't understand people these days...

BigAl, I stopped today to take a look and there was only one on the lot. Black/beige/DISO (rofl) with cloth interior. The coupes come out next week (9/22?).

yeah, towards the end of the month according to the salesguy. by the way, the person who keyed a total of 6 brand new cars on the lot, was some lady who was pissed off about something or another, and retaliated. yes, they caught her! :rofl

I guess there is more Hondas I would consider over Toyotas but all in all neither. Very bland brands but good commuter cars thats it.

why isn't anyone metioning Nissan? Right now I do believe they are offering the best rates as well as the best bang for your dollar! Check out the new altima coup too. The six has more HP than either at the moment and it's quality built just like the others

Can't compare Nissan initial Quality or long term Reliability to Honda or Toyota.. Period!
