Highly impressed with Wolf's Deironizer Decon Gel (wheel cleaner)

I have attached a picture of a wheel on a 135i that I wash for a client every 3 weeks. The wheels where treated 2 months ago with Wolf's Rim Shield. I sprayed the Wolf's Deironizer Decon Gel (latest version 3) on the wheels and let it dwell for 15 mins (always do this in the shade on a cool wheel.) I then rinsed the wheels without any agitation using my Kranzle K 1120T pressure washer (1400 psi.) The wheels came 100% clean barrels included.



Using a Kwazar spray bottle I only used 100ml for all 4 wheels.

Seems like this type of product is the new hotness in detailing.



gmblack3- Did you try repeated/subsequent applications to see if it would *not* change color with additional treatments?

Accumulator, No, I did not, I'll try it next time on one of the front wheels. I've never been able to do a spray/rinse on wheels this dirty with sonax.

They're not perfect side-by-side pics (speaking for the camera angle), but that's the same wheel after 5 minutes of dwell time before each pic was taken. Should give you a pretty good idea though.



Also, these pics are with decon gel v1 and not v3.
 
Wolf's Decon is great stuff - I think it is my favorite wheel cleaner out there right now. I am looking forward to using it to prep my paint before sealing this spring.

I've tried while comparing Sonax FE to Wolf's Brake Duster last year. Here are some pics:



First hit:

I noticed only very slight colour change on multiple applications.
 
dfazekas & tonipieleanu- Thanks for that info/confirmation (both with pix no less!), that's sure different from what I experienced with IronX.
 
Sorry no pictures, but just used Wolf's on a Cayman S. Tried spray and rinse method on one front wheel and it came out clean. Did a light spritz over the area and did not see any additional red.

Just out of curiousity, how long do you allow it to dwell before removing?
 
What is the viscosity of the Wolf's Decon Gel and did you spray it full-strength onto the wheel? I ask because some gels are rather thick and quite impossible to "mist" onto any surface - you more or less spray large blobs instead. If this is the case, then you tend to waste/use up more product than actually needed.



I am very interested in this product and Griot's similar wheel cleaner as they both have a big price advantage over Sonax and IronX.

take whatever wheel cleaner you are using and put it in a chemical resistant trigger bottle and continue to use. i do this with SONAX and I get an additional two cars out of the bottle overall! I was only getting 3 cars before, and then switched, now I get 5-6 cars before having to refill!

I use a Kwazar Mercury Pro bottle and get a nice fine mist. I am using 100ml or less per car including barrels.
 
Thanks again guys for the quick responses - looks like I will be giving Wolf's a try. In the past, I've used standard car shampoo for well-maintained wheels or Meg's WB for horrific ones. This product sounds like it could fit nicely in the middle.
 
Iron-x is the first and only decon product that I have tried so far. I was pleased with the results but hate the odor. After reading this post on Wolf's decon and seeing it is cheaper , I have three small questions. Does it also stink and does it do as well on painted panels and finally where do most of you purchase it ?Thanks for the info.
