Hi All!

First off, just wanted to say what a great community we have in this forum! Being totally new to proper car washing and detailing, I've definitely learned a tremendous amount from all of you. What a great source of opinions, ideas, information, insights, and laughter we have here at Autopia! :xyxthumbs

After a lot of reading and learning, I decided to attempt a "mini-detail" of my car over the weekend. Products I used in the order used/applied:

CG ONE/EcoGreen Waterless Wash

Klasse AIO

Poorboys Black Hole Glaze

Klasse Sealant (2 layers)

Poorboys Spray and Gloss

303 Trim Protectant

I didn't do a clay bar as the car is very new and the surface felt very smooth without the rough feeling associated with contaminants...I also don't have a PC so couldn't do a proper polish :( It was a beautiful morning here in Vancouver so I decided to take some pics before heading into work. Please excuse the sub-par photo-quality, I was rushing and don't have a DSLR (yet) so these were snapped with a simple point-and-shoot. I did the detail over the weekend and the car photo'd as such 2 days later.

Let me know if the pics are too big/annoying and I'll replace them with less-res versions. I value your expert opinions and would like to know if I'm on the right track, so please do share your thoughts, comments, feedback etc.!

Thanks for stopping-by!

Needs more FMIC :D

looks great though.

I do recommend investing in a PC, G110v2, Griots garage DA, or flex, as it GREATLY increases your polishing capability, and decreases the time it takes you to do it.

Thanks for sharing. I think your method was simple and effective .... Your GTI looks great! I'm diggin the license plate, any mods?

Thanks folks! :)

The FMIC is on the way ;) Although I think the honeycomb grill will still hide it... :(

Mods so far:

Engine: APR Stage 1, Carbonio CF Intake

Tranny/Driveline: Neuspeed Tourque Arm Insert

Suspension: H&R Touring Cup Kit

Shoes: 19" Neuspeed RS10 Forged w/Falken FK-452

Exterior: Rieger Front Lip+Splitter (on-order), 4500k Fogs

I've got more "go" and "show" mods planned and will definitely post an update once available!

Thanks! :)

Given that I don't have a PC, I accepted that I wouldn't be able to totally eliminate swirls :( So I opted for a "reduce and hide" strategy with the combo of AIO and Black Hole (with fillers), and then seal the fillers with sealant to hopefully make them last longer than usual.

The FMIC is in the works! :bigups But I think the front grill will still hide it :( oh well...
