IMHO - I think it would be pretty intersting if you had the elite paint correction guys like Kevin Brown, Ryan Blanchette, RickRack, Todd Helme, Bryan Burnworth(to name just a few) take part in the shootout. These guys not only know how to squeeze every last bit of gloss out of perfected paint, but they've done some pretty impressive product reviews in the past. They'd be able to lend the most credibility for the comparison.

All this and my wife decided to upgrade our Sprint MiFi card to unlimited so me and the kids can watch all the YouTube vids we want, life is good today!

Now if my old boy Mark Martin could pull the upset of the century!

If I were choosen I wouldn't care about the ride in the car. I would just want full access to every pad and product combination availible and a chance to play! You know I will give some feedback good or bad.

Interesting, yes! If they want to be considered, they should put their name in the hat. We can't drag guys in that are not interested or available. :)

Banned member accounts are a matter of rule infractions. Banned members that request a lift on their ban and promise they will abide by the community's basic rules are (normally) welcomed back to the community without issue.

wow, this is becoming an international phenomenon. Very exciting to see the results. How about not limiting this to 3 detailers and bring in more?

Just a little selfish to see how crazy this would become.

Excellent idea.

if this is on a weekend can other forum members show up to see in person? i am about an hour away and would love to take part in person.

also is the panel going to be polished by the contestant? using both polishes? i'm asking because maybe there is a learning curve with the HD polishes and it would only be fair to let one person polish both sides.

I think there is some learning curve since by spreading it on speed 3 and breaking it down on 5, then buffing off- that was the hardest part. This polish has a great open time, but I found it to dust a lot. I need someone on the HD team to tell me the best way to work it in so I can get the "no dust" "easy to buff off" results.

It had great cut and even with a noob like me not knowing how (it was my first time with a DA or any buffer for that matter) the supplied UNO Pad results in the magical LSP ready surface in one step, it removed all swirls and even the large scratches were less noticeable, and im sure with another go at it, doing it twice on the same area it can remove some medium scratches with ease.

Not likely to happen in So. Cal. before April... I'm thinking this even is going down in January.

January would be good... Before or after the Mobile Tech Expo (Jan. 15th-18th)?

Put me in the hat for consideration, my man.

Too bad it takes a SHOOTOUT to bring autopians together, but I am soooo excited to meet some fellow autopians FINALLY.

If chosen, I will be bringing a random orbital to do my panel. I would like to bring along a few different Meguiar's liquids and pads.

Bringing my Black & Decker 6138 Buffmaster Rotary Polisher, too. Just in case I need to spin something REALLY super fast.

I spent a lot of time behind the big fella.

I recall reading somewhere (back in the '80's) that staring at things that spin over and over and over can advance the onset of male pattern baldness.

Thankfully, I see no hint of this just yet.

Hey- if it happens it happens. :rofl
