HD Challenge (@ SEMA?)

It came to 3D's attention today that a rumor was started on another forum about the new HD UNO car polish. The rumor basically stated that HD UNO caused holograms and was only a mediocre product.



As a result, Tunch, the owner of 3D, asked me to "drop the gauntlet" and invite three challengers to 3D in Santa Clarita, CA, all expenses paid. In other words, bring the polishes you think can't be beat, and use them side-by-side with HD UNO. The event will be video taped, and the results -- good or bad -- will be published on YouTube in HD.



Here's the catch:



- Event will be on a weekend TBD

- You may not be affiliated with the products you are putting against HD UNO

- The winning product will be determined by Autopia member votes from the videos

If you're one of the three selected, I'll see to it that you get a ride in Tunch's new Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. :D

What does it mean to beat a product? Price, dusting, smell, the pretty label on the bottle?



I am guessing UNO is targeted toward System one and #86 Solo type products.



I'd like to attend. You guys can "beat" up on each other. I'll be detailing his Ferrari.

The contest is about final results for a given process. All paint polishing processes have steps. 3D wants to put it's single liquid process against the conventional wisdom of 2-3 liquids for cut, polish and finish.



Yes, both System One and Meguiar's Solo offer a single liquid system. They are welcome to participate in the show down.

Ya I can't seem to find the beer thread either, but can't wait to see the challenge myself. Believe me I have my own Horror stories too. :buffing:
 
It seems like the hype has died out about the challenge. I was wondering if there's any word on when to expect the chosen contestants to be picked.

Hello Everyone,

I have great news for you. It looks like by Tuesday they will post up the Date, Rules and Regulation for the challenge I'm soooooooooo.....excited for everyone who is ready to rumble.
 
Looking forward to hearing more about this, never seen anything like this done before, should be interesting for all manufacturers products involved
 
We are planing sometime between the 6th and 22nd of January. News coming later today. :getdown
 
The Official Date of our HD Challenge will be January 15th!!! Anyone that wants to attend is welcome including competitors. The 3 people that win the challenge must be free to fly January 14 and come back on January 16th.



Official rules and Participant Entry Forum will be posted tomorrow.
