Has anyone tried the DuraGloss products..

Seems like a quest for the Holy Grail! I've now been to 13 stores in Massachusetts...and cannot find ANY Duragloss products. I emailed the mfg and they said to try NAPA stores..well I can't find one NAPA that carries Duragloss. Has anyone in Mass actually SEEN Duragloss in any stores? I'm kinda stumped as to why this stuff is so hard to find.

Probably just the demand in your particular area. Shipping direct from the is $4.95. You've probably spent that in gas already driving around to thirteen stores. If you bought more than one product, ordering online or via toll free phone would probably be well worth it. Maybe your wife could let you use the credit card one more time.

The Napa's and Carquests near me do not have any in stock..but they do have them in their product books....they can order it for you..get next day...Carquest would be your best bet..they can order more than Napa...

I'm trying to discern the difference between 101 (Polish and Cleaner) and 111 (Clear Coat Polish). Does the 111 polish not clean? Or is the 101 not for clear coat finishes? ;)

I'm interested in the shampoo and AW, but undecided about the polishes.

The 101 has a cleaner in it plus a sealant ..sorta like AIO type product..the 111 is a straight sealant with no cleaners...Both are for clearcoats...

You can use the #101 to clean the paint (chemical cleaner) of previous waxes and sealants and surface contaminants...and it will add protection also...then you can use # 111 over it to add more protection without stripping what you have already put on..#111 is layerable...

Their system works great..all the products work with each other

The Aquawax is second to none..try it and you decide...but do it after you dry the car..better results are what I have seen ....WET and Slick
Shampoo is tops...

I think it might be a bit confusing, because they label their products with different terminology than what I am used to. Polish from Duragloss = sealant. Usually, when I see polish, I am thinking about something like Pooroby's Pro Polish, Meg's ColorX, etc.

The 101 is similar to something like ColorX or AIO, and the 111 is a pure sealant, such as EX-P or UPP.

EDIT: Man, I gotta start reading the entire thread - I see that Al has already beat me to it. :D

It seems that Duragloss has a new product comming out, called Total Performance. It suppose to be outstanding. According to Jerry at Duragloss, with , the new Total Performance, Aquawax, and the car wash your car should look super forever.

What is it? A sealant, wax, polish, etc?

The Total Performance is #105..it is a cleaner /sealant....

Some one did a write up on at autopia with a picture of the bottle..Thread is named Duragloss total performance

Here is what the label said........

Synthetic Polymer/Wax Formula
Cleans and Polishes in One Step
Clear Coat Safe
Durable to Acids and Alkalies

seems like the paste wax..but a liguid version....they may be coming out with a new line of polishes(sealants)....that would be interesting if they do...

I'll join the ranks of a satisfied user. I saw the thread Jared started about the aqua wax, so I took a trip to the local Carquest who suprisingly stocks pretty much all of the duragloss line. I picked up the Car Wash, the Aqua Wax, and the window water spot remover. Thoughts about the car wash are......great. This is the best otc wash I have encountered to date. Although the smell brings back memories of running from my mother chasing me with the cherry medicine bottle. I'm one who likes to see suds, and lots of them. SSS is my go to wash for my car, but the duragloss wash suds up like a champ and doesn't quit. It says an ounce per gallon, but a half ounce per gallon would do the trick easily. I will definitely be buying a gallon quantity when my bottle runs out.

The Aqua Wax is another great product. I used it both ways, dry application and as a wax as you dry. Don't know about durability in the long run, but did my gf's car and it rained about an hour later. The beads were awesome, I simply went out and blotted the car dry and it looked like I just washed it. Will probably order a gallon of this as well to use as a weekly wax as I dry product.

Don't have much info on the window water spot remover yet, I tried it on a very small section of my window and with what minimal effort I put into it, it removed a suprising amount of spots. I think a spot buffs pad with the pc would be a great combo for this product. I'll give it a try soon.

Exactly what I was alluding to. Two products labeled "polish" yet with two completely different functions.

In that case the product name is a complete misnomer. This isn't totally unheard of in this industry, but give the consumer a break and correctly label a product according to its function.

Part of that problem would be the fact that consumers don't often know what the functions of certain products are anyway. I have had several people ask me, "what's the longest lasting polish you can buy?"

Again, Some people actually refer to wax as polish, and usually it's people from the older generation that talk to me about car care.

Yes..Mr. Clean I agree with you...but I think Duragloss and a few others kinda followed the old school way..calling them polishes...as in the old days

Zaino calls their sealants polish.. some European companies call them polishes...some call them glazes...

some companies call them waxes when they are a synthetic sealant...or a combo of both...and the list goes on..

maybe some day they will get it right..lol...

Al -

Have you used the Duragloss Swirl Mark remover (pre-polish product)? I am wondering if it's more a remover or more of a hider. Thanks.

Don't know if anyone else has seen this but Spray and Gloss and Auto Wax don't get along too well. I put some S&G over my autowax and it just seemed to smear all over the place. Took some S&W and a couple of clean mf's to get all of the smear marks out.

Yes Jared I did use it...I had some very light marring on the door and used the swirl remove to take them out...I used a 4" green propel pad..and worked the area and they were gone..I did a wipedown with prep sol and still gone....but I really can't say if it has fillers or not...doesn't seem to.. but???...it works a long time...seems very mild...would be good for holo's..but to do marring and spiderwebs...it may be to light more like a pro-polish type product...but buffer marks it should work...

the buffing & polishing cleaner may be better for marring....have not tried it..it may be one of the products I do not have..lol...but not sure..when I won the auction it contained 40-50 items...some doubles...I just put them away and left out what I may be useing right away...

I haven't used S&G in a pretty good while. When you say Auto Wax, are you meaning AquaWax? All the QD's I have tried over it work well, S&W included.

Thanks, Al. I was curious, as I thought about trying it out. It would be nice if it worked as well as the marr-removing polishes I have now. That looks to be like a weakness in the DG line - no "polish" that could tackle moderate marring. Their swirl mark remover ight work well on my personal vehicles though, as I usually don't have to use a moderate polish anymore. Thanks for your input.
