Happy Birthday bmw5541

I just had some correspondence with Steve Hall, and he suggested that I order 4 of the Terry cloth and one suede one and he would give it all to me as if I am ordering 5 of the same type. Nice guy and good service.

I think I will give them a try, especially after your post.

That's a nice offer that Steve made you; I'd take him up on that, myself. I guess if you don't try it, you'll never know.

While I wouldn't recommend the suede towels for the finish as there is virtually no nap to them, I have very easily achieved great results applying 303 to the interior with the suede towel.

Hope you like it just as much.:up

Thanks, arcticwhite. I was just thinking the same thing after your other post. I had been having trouble getting the dressing to spread evenly on the interior with terry cloth, so I was going to try MF's, but the terry ones seem to soak up so much product, I haven't tried them yet. So I think I will order up a bunch and try it for my interior, and the other ones for my paint. I got some cheaper Costco ones (I wanted to see what the hype on MF's were before I shelled out $$) and love using them on the glass.

I have been just using a clean cotton cloth to buff. Ends up looking kind of splotchy in places. I then try to "fill in" the spots, but am not very satisfied with the results. From reading other posts here, my dash may have been contaminated with other silicone based dressings previously (bought car used), so I am going to try using dish soap to clean the dash really well, and reapply the dressing and see how it goes. Got any advice?

I cut a 2" x 2" piece of terry to do vinyl detailing in tight areas. I also use this method for vinyl and rubber trim. There is much more control of where the dressing is applied. I was even thinking of using one of YoSteve's mini MF's next time. I got a bunch last time I ordered MF's from him. I keep one in each room for little cleaning jobs...glasses, TV and computer screens, watch, etc.

I have not used the suede MF's yet. I am not sure if I should order the CMA Max or the Neatitems suede cloth. Any noticeable differences?

No, not really. I think you are right about silicone oil impregnated in your dash being the culprit in your situation.

I use a small damp yellow foam applicator with a small scissor cut on its side (to make sure I don't accidently use it to apply wax). Since it's damp, it spreads the product out very well. It soaks up some product too, but all I need to do is give it a little pressure and the soaked up product comes right out. I wait about 30-45 minutes and then use the same applicator to buff and make sure there aren't any streaks or bare areas.

Arcticwhite's idea to use the suedes for dressing application sounds interesting though. I had been previously using them for windows.

I am going to do some experimentation with foam applicators and the suede MF from Neatitems (just placed the order) and see how it works.

Happy Birthday Barry, hope it's a great one with your family and friends!:happybday::bday cake::happybday::bday cake::happybday::bday cake::happybday::bday cake:
