He bought the .40 and it jammed every time, and he sent it back to CZ...they couldnt fix it and sent him a 9mm one free of charge. We took the 9mm to the range, and it was jamming like crazy too. He took it down and told me he had to sand off a burr. We havent shot it since, it has just left a bad taste in his mouth. An unreliable carry pistol is not acceptable. He has since settled on a .32 caliber Beretta Tomcat, which seems to be reliable. I couldnt get his to jam on me, despite all the reports I've read about them not being reliable.
I said it in my last reply, and I'll say it until I'm blue in the face....Glocks are IT for carry, IMO. Reliable, low maintenance, low priced and pretty darn accurate.
Bob, you got your eyes on a GP100? I just bought myself an old S&W wheelie and I love it.
For sure you want a reliable gun. I knwo I have not had one jam up in my CZ83 and I have fired probably 1000 rounds through it so far.
I am not sure what Ruger I would get if I got one. Something small for sure.
