Hand gun owners....can you carry legally?

Careful with the Rami. Get the 9mm over the 40. One of my buddies is going to sell his. He bought the .40 and it jammed every time, and he sent it back to CZ...they couldnt fix it and sent him a 9mm one free of charge. We took the 9mm to the range, and it was jamming like crazy too. He took it down and told me he had to sand off a burr. We havent shot it since, it has just left a bad taste in his mouth. An unreliable carry pistol is not acceptable. He has since settled on a .32 caliber Beretta Tomcat, which seems to be reliable. I couldnt get his to jam on me, despite all the reports I've read about them not being reliable.

I said it in my last reply, and I'll say it until I'm blue in the face....Glocks are IT for carry, IMO. Reliable, low maintenance, low priced and pretty darn accurate.

Bob, you got your eyes on a GP100? I just bought myself an old S&W wheelie and I love it.

For sure you want a reliable gun. I knwo I have not had one jam up in my CZ83 and I have fired probably 1000 rounds through it so far.

I am not sure what Ruger I would get if I got one. Something small for sure.

We have open and concealed carry here in AZ. Very few people opt for the open carry since the CCW is only an 8 hour class. I have a Sig 229 in a Milt Sparks VM2. I find that many stores have stickers or signs posted on the doors that say "Firearms Prohibited". I am just assuming they aren't talking to me. I am not going to leave my piece in the car because Sears said so.

The perk of my occupation is that I get to carry in all 50 states!!

I usually carry a Glock 30. I went the cheap route as I use it as a back up gun on duty as well. I went with the Glock 30 because it can share the magazines of my duty weapon, although I'm thinking about picking up a snubnose revolver or somehting a little smaller. Glock 30 is wiiide.

IMO, open carry is stupid and dangerous.

That is my winter carry gun! Everyone who tries it out is amazed at how much of a tack driver it is. Have you tried the 36?

Yeah, even in the 21st century there's a good reason to consider a little snubbie :D Much as I like some mini autos (e.g. the Tomcat/Seecamp/etc.) I'd just rather trust my life to a revolver. Simple and intuitive is good.

But what about splitting the difference and getting a thin, basic auto? Something like a Commander or one of the many other versions of chopped Govt. Models...the new 9mm from Springfield looks pretty appealing, what with its scaled-down frame.
