Hammered Black Z06 Corvette Brought Back to Life!! (98 Pictures)

Flawless Image- Thanks again!

kwiker- Thanks! Can't wait to see how it turns out!

TMoNeE- Thank you!

1bad-detailer- Thanks!

It's jobs like this that make me ever so conscious of my abilities compared to y'all - just a totally stunning restoration on the Z06 - if they'd have had you do that -first- I bet they could have gotten an entire boatload of dollars more for the car.

I bow before the Master....

Mike

You & Ryan need to stop sniffing polish, because your O.C.D. kicked into severe overdrive. Unfrigginbelieveable!!! I've looked at this thread 3 days in a row and finally gathered up enough energy to compliment you on your amazing work. You rock man!

Rick I know it's sand to the beach to say great job, but I will say it anyway what an incredible correction!!!:bowfive pages of Autopia love(well deserved).

bufferbarry- Thanks again Barry!

David703- Thank you David!

David Fermani-David, thanks for the kind words! Ryan and I have some serious OCD issues we need to address! I think the polish dust has finally got to our heads :chuckle:...

MotorCity- Thanks!

Auto Concierge- Thank you very much Bob!

Flashtime- Thanks! I used a black Tuf Buf lambs wool pad from Micro Surface, which is one of my favorite pads. The 3M 80349 is awesome. If I had to compare it to something, I would say it is similar to SIP. Maybe a little less cut, but gives a better overall gloss.

How the heck did I miss this thread? AMAZING WORK!!! That surely is not the same car, and Rick is just trying to trick us into thinking it is by using an identical car that was already in mint condition. lol!

Great job man!

Thanks Rick!

I do follow your threads and write-ups and have bought some of the products

you use (like the MV350). If the 80349 is similar to SIP, then it should be similar

to M205? Which i think is similar to IP.

Outstanding Job man! I love Z06 corvettes, Thats pretty remarkable you can get that paint that great of condition again. Blown away! :bigups

kaval- Thanks! You're right, I switched it with another car, but don't tell anyone! ;)

Flashtime- Thank you! The 80349 is somewhere in between M205 and SIP. Works great as a 1 step on some lighter colors, but doesn't have a lot of cut. Works great on finicky paints, unlike Menzerna.

Mr. BMW- Thanks! I agree... I don't understand how someone could abuse such a nice car either.

DetailnByDustn- Thanks!

That was phenomenal. You said it was neglected. I would say it was way beyond that. I'd say it was ABUSED. Great job on the detail. Almost a miracle. Now all it needs is a new owner. Someone should take his keys away. :)
