Once in a while a job will take longer than expected. If it does, I will tell the customer that it was more work than I originally thought, but the price is still the same. They usually really appreciate it and give you extra $$ anyway. Sometimes not so much! That's just the cost of doing business I guess.

that is my same philosophy! I quote 300, it takes longer, I eat it up! I am not in it to break their bank roll! I hold true to my word! last guy I did it for gave me a 50 tip on a 200 job that took over 10 hours! (quoted over the phone without seeing, yikes)
