Habits that make us true Autopians

I really dont have any things to add but, I showed this list to my Girlfriend and to one of my friends and they said, <strong class='bbc'>That describes you to a T, and it is a little Scary[/b]

You keep going back to the same Kragen, Pepboys, Walmart, etc. everyday because you keep telling yourself: "Damn they ran out of the Vikings mitts, New formula A2Z, Rain-X wheel protectant.....But I am 100% sure they WILL have it tomorrow......"

okay, that's no fair, i'm the one that posted about it?
maybe you can e-mail it to me? [email protected] I'll take a quick write up, just curious [/b]</blockquote>
lol. Yup, matter of fact your post was inspiration to my purchase, so credit was given to you on the first line of my review. Hey, I know I saved a draft somewhere in my home computer, just gotta find it this weekend. I'll be hosting the pics in my own album this time, and picture size will be under 640x480 so that shouldn't put too much stress on this forum. I'll put it up again with pics so please look for it after this Saturday under "Product Review". Basically it cleans very well, but I found myself stop using it last week because I was tired, and didn't feel like wringing all the water out of YOUR towels which I don't need to do with a washing machine :)

I've changed my washing habit. Now I start around 10:30PM TO 11PM on FRIDAY under halogens and finish around 2-3AM. It's great. There's no sunlight and water spotting has been greatly minimized!

7) Ignore weather reports - even if it rains tomorrow; it'll be clean today.

That is so true. lol. I've wash & wax my car in many occasions knowing the fact it will be raining the next day. There are times when I get my equipments ready to wash the car, my brother or friends will try to stop me saying "hey, didn't you see the forecast, it's going to rain tomorrow", and as I always replied them, "you point is? what does raining <strong class='bbc'>tomorrow[/b] got anything to do with me washing car <strong class='bbc'>today[/b] ? :D

I think that I'm "guilty" on about 90% of this list. We truly are a unique breed.

How about: we want to replace our bath towels with MF towels for personal use (wasn't it PrinzII that thought of this??)

How about washing a perfectly clean car in order to ward off the quilt of not detailing that week.

Drive a beater car the majority of the time in order to preserve the dealed car.

Know the weather report better then the weather reporter.

Your favorite TV channel is "The Weather Channel".

Actually get excited about detailing.

Track all detailing items on mail order hourly.

Feel a great sense of loss if unable to log into Autopia Carport. :(

I had to add because I just did this last night...

- drive over 40 miles to an auto parts store because it has the brand of detailing supplies you like.

Loudoun county so needs an autozone!

How about if you don't drive your car because it wasn't detailed that past weekend even though you didn't really need to?

This past weekend I didn't detail my car and I felt bad, I didn't drive it expect for Saturday night (it was dark out and no one could see) to my parents house...

Sometimes I feel I don't even want a car if it's not clean.

How about this...

Instead of checking out the other nice cars on the road, you checkout the abused, swirl-laden, oxidized cars and wonder how an owner can be so cruel, and take pride in knowing how sweet you could make that car look if only given the chance....

how about...

Sit in rush hour traffic with a smile, while watching everyone look at how clean your car is.

While driving in rain, sit higher up to watch the water run straight off your hood.

After leaving a restaraunt, QD car in the parking lot with gf/wife sitting in car.

Detail your neighbor's new cars, because you don't like seeing nice cars dirty, and hope they will eventually do it on their own.

Encourage your gf/wife to go shopping with your c/c, so you can spend alone time with your car.

:D

People always offer to loan you their cars because you return them detailed.

In hopes that you will be cleaning your car. Because they know if there's a dirty car in the driveway (regardless of whose it is), you'll clean it.

Run your finger over clean looking cars just to check if they need to be clayed , so far I found only 1 smooth car

Wait in your car to see who is the owner of the other detailed car at work

Polish a few panels from your brother in law car because you're getting bore at a family reunion and you just happened to have the 'emergency' detail kit in the trunk

Dry your kids hair with MF towels you won't use for your car

Guilty! :)

I also see if other people need their car's clayed and I haven't seen one yet that hasn't ......... well there was a brand new Firehawk owned by a Zaino addict but thats about it, even he needed the clay a little.

I can't wait, I try to buy local... my motto is "if I'm going to spend my money I want the product I am paying for when I give away my money"

Sometimes you just need to order, you know for Klasse and stuff like that, around here Pepboy's had a decent product line until you get into your fancy smancy labels. ;)

If I did that it'd be EX-wife!

I fit in nearly all of those categories - however i am guilty of:

Saying im just going into town or visiting someone just to take one of the cars and spend extra hours detailing it -

im also guilty of wiping down all the glass work if some one has sat on that side, and wiping away any finger marks, and sweeping my mats - as always someone brings in tiny stones - which really p..ses me off.

buy blank CD's to test new towels and applicators

Keep peanut butter in garage to clean plastic trim

Keep expensive wax in refrigerator

And every Autopian Wishes he/she owned Brad's Garage or at least one of his cars

:xyxthumbs

I guess were about the only ones who ,now and then, take their camera and take pictures of our car,

take pictures of reflections,

water beading - sheating

pictures of our tires , rims , wheel - wells

pictures of the engine-bay

pictures of the interiour,

.

.

.

while others only take pictures of their kids, wife , dog,...

:D
