Oh. Well that's definitely not something I recall seeing over here, but then I'm lucky in having a drive and access to a hose etc. so don't pay too much attention to car washes.

I tend to see it as his business so his rules, and personally I'm the sort that if I saw the guy there would probably have asked "do you mind if...".

Evidently, some in the USA are not quite as polite!

I'm sure if you ask Harrods, they could sell you a coin operated wash. They seem to have EVERYTHING!'

Acknowledging your deficiency is a good first step.

I'll think of you when detailing my cars in my 36' X 30' insulated and heated garage.

:chuckle: Wow; what an entertaining thread!! Anyway, recalling the amazingly childish rudeness of both proprietors and customers in general back in the good ole' U.S.A. helps keep me from feeling homesick when I have to put up with the inflated prices over here in Nippon. :dance

Hey Grimm,

Being a fellow Michigander I know your pain. I didnt take the time to go through all the pages because of all the bashing that is going on but maybe you could go to the bay, give the car a good spray down and then pull it out and continue to do a quick ONR and dry with your waffle weaves?

The lines are always ridiculous after the snow gets off the road and people want their car nice and shiny again. I just drive by and laugh because I check the weather the night before and do an ONR if its going to be nice. :) I cant see paying $10 every week during winter to get my car swirled up, when I can do it at home for free and get some self satisfaction out of it.

Down here in Holland before I knew of Autopia I would go to those places, pull it out of the bay and finish drying and dress my tires and what not and apply a good coat of NXT haha And the guy wouldnt mind a bit. Obviously it depends on the owners and how picky they are. Another option would be to go after he leaves and when it slows down a bit so you can take your time without getting hassled...but then again who wants to go at 10 pm and freeze their sleigh bells off :nana:

Take it easy!

-Josh
