Gary Dean?

Garrys videos (and his self-promotion in general) always struck stodgy-ol-me as pretty cheesy, but his IUDJ is simply great and as I posted way back on the first page of this thread hes a 100% stand-up guy IME. He bent over backwards to take care of a problem I had that wasnt his fault, really went the extra mile when he sure didnt have to, proved himself to be the kind of guy I like doing business with.

Hey, hes in business. Hes trying to make money. He goes about that in the way he wants to/thinks will be successful. Hes a nice guy who takes good care of his customers (again, IME), so Ill defend him unless I have a reason to change my opinion of him.

The HF d/a is a good random orbital. I have used it numerous times and for $55 its a heck of a machine. Have achieved great results with it.

Whats so hard about using a da? Is it the complex formula of using over-lapping movements, and varying pressures and speeds?
Dont over-complicate running a buffer just to try and legitamize something that doesnt need to be.

I agree. Its not super difficult. I think its the kind of thing someone can teach pretty easily in an afternoon.

What is more complicated in knowing what defects you are looking at, what products/pads/techniques you can mix and match to attack them, and what not do to make something even worse.

But if someone had a Rupes mini and their full size DA, with all their pads and compounds that are color coordinated - I think it would be pretty easy to teach them how to polish most paints.

Of course there are weird / soft paints that may require some experience or trial and error to have success with.

I dig Garry.

Just like anything, you have to take with a grain of salt the videos are pretty entertaining. I might never try any of his products, but I absolutely respect the guy for believing in himself, and putting himself out there.

The guy has some good info and I dont think Ive ever heard a bad word about his detail juice, but I cant make it through his videos. That last one that was posted in this thread was, uhhh.....a little different than I remember his videos being lol

I do not think it is usually the case of making it worse but doing it in an efficient manner. For example, being able to finish certain paint down properly without having to back over it several times.

What we do not know is the quality of work by detailers since you really need to see the paint in person. That is, I suspect some detailers could take the work of other respected detailers and take the shine up a notch. The original finish would have satisfied almost anyone. A production detailer is interested in a satisfied customer..usually not perfection.

Some detailers make videos that are really more talk than actually adding any new information.

I am still very much around. You guys are right. I do a lot of self-promotion. Thats because it works. My line is doing very well, in fact I just updated everything. New bottles, labels, and still working on the website.

RawDetailTV is not for everyone. Some of the info in there, the general consumer doesnt need to see. The fee isnt necessarily to make money, it is more of a wall to keep people who dont need the information from having it. In fact, rdtv is still FREE... You just have to be on board with my line to get access. If thats not acceptable, learn from someone else. If you dont like how I do things, buy elsewhere. Its that simple. If youre interested in giving me a shot, I will earn your business.

I can say that my customers are very important to me and I will bend over backwards to make sure they succeed in their detailing endeavors.

I hope you all are well. We all have opinions... and you know what theyre like... Some just cant handle the truth. Im very happy to see that my self-promotion has kept me in the spotlight here. If I can be of any assistance, Im only a phone call away.

Garry Dean- Hey, good to see you post here! Hope all is well.

And yeah....*someday* Ill eventually need more IUDJ, and when that happens....well, that Juice Boost is still tempting me.

The Rupes is an awesome machine. Without a doubt. But great results can be achieved with the HF D/A and the right products and techniques. Garry Dean just calls it how he sees it. And he has never steered me wrong. Here is a picture showing my HF D/A using Buff N Shine orange pad (MENZERNA FG400) and Buff N Shine white pad (MENZERNA PF4000). Huge improvement.
