Fun with a Vantage in an Aston dealership.

Kind of cool one today - the car is great looking but it was especially neat being in the dealership. The dealership itself was having a grand opening, so this car was to be on the showroom floor, and the owner wanted it spiffy for show time. It was actually a little intimidating working there, not because of the cars so much as the crazy amount of activity going on. I must have had to "move my stuff" for 30 Vantages, DB9's and Vanquishes today.

So anyway, on to the car. A V8 Vantage. I've worked on this color before, very finicky paint; soft, soft, soft. The SA at the dealership told me they "aren't fully baked" at the factory... erk.



Condition wasn't too bad. Mostly light to moderate swirls. Some deeper stuff on the roof and front bumper. I guess one of the goons at the dealership rested a sheet of sandpaper on it? Why? I don't know.



Process was wash, clay...

Some spot polishing with HTHC/orange @1500

Menzerna IP/white @ 1400

106ff/grey @ 1200

i dont know whats better? your photography or detail skills. car looks so good. great job. what kind of camera do you use by the way?

I use a Canon 300D with a 17-35 or 28-135 lens.

Such a beautiful car and excellent results.



I saw one just like it in a showroom (ironically at a VW dealer, but their used sales are unusually high-end and this was an 06 with only 600 miles). It had a depressing number of swirls, but the really odd thing was a rectangular area, about 3" x 6" on the corner of the roof that was hazed or clouded. I couldn't figure out what was going on with it, but if they intend to sell it I sincerely hope they get someone in there who can deal with it.
 
no insults there by any means. and im sure you knew i was only kidding. but really you excel in both photography and detail work. thanks for the heads up on the camera.
 
:drools: i need to buy one those in 5 years. Just wait for my startup company guys!!! Great job. Hi-Temp FTW and great photography. I really wish i can cough out money for the DSLR.
