Floor Mat/s HELP please

I just purchased some floor mats for my 90 Reatta...the mats are original OEM dove gray.

I have cleaned them 3 times. They had some ground in clay colored (orangish brown) dirt embedded. I initially use a red industrial soap and then an oxygen general purpose soap.

Each time that I have cleaned the mats they come out a little cleaner but still retain the clay colorde dirt. After they are almost dry I can take a light colored / white rag and rub the carpet and get dirt off. I have use a high pressur nozzel on the hose to rinse AND I have rinsed very well but the dirt remains..... ?

Can someone tell me please what I am doing wrong here...and if there is a better cleaner to use?

Sincere thanks,

:usa

Folex, 303 Cleaner, Megs D10219 are all good products. I have to agree with smprince1, an extractor would be helpful. If all else fails, take the mats to a car wash facility or call a pro detailer in your area that steam cleans.

Thanks gentlemen...I have a big Craftsman shop vac and I will atttempt with that...also have a little Green Machine but I suppose the shop vac will be stronger. I was using a high pressure nozzel at an angle so I thought that would get it out but after rinsing, when I pressed on the mats I could see dirty rinbse water.......thanks for the reply :usa

ALSO...have a question about the forum please. I just noticed under my name that it states something to the affect that I have 20 some PMs' out of my allowed 60...can someone enlighten me what happens when I get to 60 please :)

Thanks,

Nic

Yea, definitely try the shop vac or the little green machine. It will help suck out the water.

About the PM's, once you reach your maximum, you PM mailbox basically shuts down and you will not be able to receive any more messages until you clear out your inbox.

I have the same orangish colored dirt in my black carpet. What I realized is that its just dirt and not an actual stain, try vaccuming it kind of aggressively with a stiff brush and your shop vac. You should see all the dirt flying up to the top of the carpet.
