FK1 425 vs PB S&G

Could someone give me some insight on the comparisons of the two? I already have S&G. Seen people really like 425 and seem to love it...Please give me your opinions...

Also...is the FK100 really that good? Is it like the UPP spray sealant?

What can pink wax be compared to?

I expect Greg Cavi to reply...

Thanks in advance

Ya, 425 is all the rage right now. Lots of talk. It does work well. But so does S&G. There is one thing about the reports of 425 that I have not experienced. Its anti-static properties. Everything in Texas collects dust.

I think it really depends on who you want to support.

FX-100 is as easy a spray sealant to apply as there is. Leaves a very slick surface. Reports lay claim to good durability for a spray sealant. Am presently using the product as a LSP on my tailgate. Applied the spray sealant after ProPolish had been applied. Will report my findings in an few weeks after arriving in Alaska.

Look forward to the comments of Pink Wax.

#425 leaves a very high gloss and gives the paint a slick feel (so does S&G). I use it on my computer monitor and TV, and have noticed the 'anti static' properties. If you live in an area with high pollen, dust/wind, it might help reduce the dust buildup, but it's not going to prevent it.

A few things that I like about #425 over S&G (and I like both products).
-425 does better at cleaning glass (i.e. it has mild cleaning properties)
-higher gloss/slickness
-Does not streak at any temperature
-$25 a gallon, makes it hard to pass up.

Pink Wax x 2 is as durable as many sealers that I've used, and really makes your paint pop. I don't use carnubas often, but when I do, it's usually Pink Wax.

FX-100 is a very good spray sealer too. In the summer, I prefer to apply it with a finishing pad until it almost disappears. When it's hot out, it tends to 'stick' to the paint, and can be a PITA to remove.

During the Fall/Winter/Spring, Mist on, wipe off. Very easy to use and it offers decent protection (6+ weeks in my experience). My neighbor likes to maintain his vehicle with #425 and FX-100 after weekly washes, and it holds that 'just detailed look'.

If you're thinking about trying the FK line up I would suggest the sampler kit. This will give you a good overview of the line without investing a lot of $$.

I really like Pink Wax, 425 & FX-100... among other FK products. I tend to lean towards a whole line, why I dont know? The FX-100 really blew me away. When applied to my Solar Yellow Jeep it changed the color and depth of the paint. Its very hard for me to explain, but I really like the way the yellow looks.

I know my comments dont reference PB S&G thats because I have never tried it. FX-100 should only be used on a clean surface its not really a QD. 425 is best used for light dust it doesnt have alot of cleaning properties. 146 is something I have not tried but it appears to be closer to PB SnW or a waterles wash. It has more cleaning properties then 425 but is suppose to leave a shine.

Ditto!

#425 is a product that has risen to the top of my arsenal. I literally don't go anywhere without it. I keep some in a 2 oz sprayer and a small piece of MF in my laptop bag for cleaning when needed. I use it on screens, glass, bathrooms, etc not to mention every automotive surface but the wells, tires, and carpet.

Unfortunately, I can't make an accurate comparison with S+G as I do not own the product. I have tried it with pretty good success but on a very limited basis, so cannot thoroughly comment on a comparison.

I agree with Sean.

One thing to understand the anti-static property of a product.

An anti static product won't prevent dust from settling to a surface. Anti-static doesn't mean 'dust repellent'.
Instead, it will stop the dust attraction. In dusty climates/areas, airborne dust will still settle/sit on the surface - but a bit less than usual. Anti-static products won't attract as much dust as you can observe with certain carnaubas, laptop/TV screens, (portable) electronic appliances, etc. The dust, which settles down to a car's (mainly horizontal) surfaces is easier to clean because they (425 & FX-100) have incredible slickness.

A very nice explanation. From reading poster's comments about this product, the term seems to be very misunderstood.

Well you expected me to reply so:

S&G and 425 are both great qd's but for me the 425 is slicker. They both looks great to but I think the 425 takes the cake for me, it also smells like cake so thats a plus. The price is also right at 25 a gallon. I think I paid 35 a gallon for my S&G i have.
