Finally starting garage (PICS)

Looks great! What kind of panels are that on the ceiling and walls? I know you are excited, hope it is all that you wanted.

Hey thanks zippy thats plasterboard on the walls, still to be taped and skimmed.

Yeh for sure I love the place I spent all day in it just playing basically!!

Okay, that's what i thought. I just did not want to point out the obvious. Wall board is a different color here in the states. Yours looks like it is already primed. Just like plaster board here that is blueish due to the coating they put on it. Are you going to tape and skim the joints, or are you doing a plaster job?

Thanks very much guys!

LightngSVT - I really like how your garage is coming together!! Looks excellent you have good workers there, even in snow!

Zippy - I should have known it was drywall in the States as I watch lots of the home and leisure channel lol.

Thanks guys, gets paint on Monday then I am off to buy a workbench and a tool chest/roller.

I have decided to leave the floor because all my stuff is in there now and I can't really be bothered moving it all again! lol. Some excuse but hey!

Leaving the floor might work out OK (looks notwithstanding). When I had the dealership building, the main shop floor was never treated/painted/etc. after it was redone and it never caused any problems. I've heard about bare concrete dusting a lot but that one never did.

Get a bigger toolchest/roll-away than you think you'll ever need ;)

O well floor was done in the end.

Hope you like, still a black skirting to go, pic was taken through the window as the floor is curing.

Really, really turned out nice! I like the walls, I actually had thought of the exact same treatment, except for using tan instead of gray. Excellent work!

I would have liked a satin look but the matte looks well.

Just got to get a skirting the doors are just varnished I was going to get them painted a colour but I didn't know what to go for.

John.

Looking real good there man. The cedar gives it a very respectable look on the outside. Looking forward to the finished pics.

Cool. You put a 4' foot high border in like I did my garage. It really looks good and helps with hiding smudges.

Yeh I thought it would come in handy when Im doing some polishing etc, if any splatter lands on the walls its not gonna be too high up but I will see.

First detail was completed this saturday but boy was I tired!

Brads gargage where I live would cost more than a house in St. Louis. ( so would the real estate taxes) both of guys, very nice.

I guess it depends where you live this all in cost £10 000 to build although we did heavy discounts due to being in the home improvement trade.

Not sure how I missed this thread but the results are fantastic. I can only watch this thread develop with a sense of envy and awe, as my car is parked some 50 feet away from the house.

Wow, I missed out this thread  Man I dig the paint scheme :bigups

The main garage door, how does it open? Does it swing outward or intward?

Hey guys, the door opens outward it is hinged on the outisde too, I don't know if I have an up to date pic of the front but Ill take one!
