Ferrari, Audi, BMW and... a honda!

My titles are starting to really suck. Interestingly the Honda was the most fun detail. Anyway, here goes.

First up, 2003 360 Modena. I was originally asked to clean the engine, turned into a bit more. :D

Zymol Concours.

I know, no outside shots. The owner parked it in first gear, and wouldn't you know, when you do that you can't re-start it without going through a whole process. Boo.

Next up, an Audi TT, imola yellow. Not a lot of marring, but what it had was fairly deep and the paint was rock solid.

BMW e92 335i, Monaco on lemon. Nice color combo, it was a new car prep. CN rail strike meant they trucked it from Halifax to here, the rear was covered in like, a billion bugs haha.

Wash, bug remove, wash, clay, bug remove, bug remove, clay, bug remove... :D

Another Audi S4, this time white, which is even harder than the black, but easier to work on overall.

Last but certainly not least, a Honda Accord. This is a members car, long story behind it, but it was a fun detail. I didn't wash or clay (owner had done it), just did the compounding and sealed with AJT.

All the cars look fantastic :bigups it's really a pity there is no sun shot on the Ferrari but the BMW sure looks watery wet. :goodjob as always.

Wow....... The BMW looks really wet; beautiful car, and IMO, one of the best colors offered for them. The Accord turned out nicely too. A few questions though:

1. What did you use on the Accord's wheels? They look amazing, I've been trying to get mine to shine like that, and while they've improved, they're nowhere near that level.

2. Did you apply any post-image processing (namely High Dynamic Range) to the shots of the S4? The contrast looks super high on them, which is why I ask.

3. How was the orange peel on the BMW?

Anyway, I have to say it again, amazing job on all the cars. :up

1) The owner cleaned the wheels. I will ask him to chime in. :)

2) No, just re-size. It looks blown out because my camera couldn't figure out the sun reflecting off the car. It was so bright I (seriously) couldn't even look at it with the sun hitting it full on. The joys of photographing a white car. On that hood shot the sun is actually right on it, you just can't see the sun's reflection because the camera couldn't pick it up. Notice the rest of the pic isn't overexposed. FWIW, I don't do anything to any of the pics but crop/re-size and add my watermark.

3) Terrible, has been on all 21 of the 335i's I've prepped, including mine.

As always, what can one say??

Why was the Honda so much "fun?"

Fun talking shop with a fellow detailer, easy paint to work on, didn't have to do any of the dirty work. :)

Very nice detailing Picus, all the vehicles look good. Curious though, what are your thoughts on the HD Cleanse and the Concourse?

I was looking forward to the Honda, you do amazing work buddy wow and your pictures turn out great.

Thanks for sharing.

Son of a B*#@$ Picus, you get some nice rides to detail. First of all great work on all but I love the 360. I noticed on the Audi it has marring on the black paint between the windows, how do you deal with that? I have a regular customer with an X5 that gets marred in the same area. It doesn't seem like regular paint in that area as it tends to cloud and not look good after polishing it. I have been using a mild polish then sealing it up but dosen't last a long before it starts to cloud again. I think I'm going to try poli seal next time.

Heya. That paint is almost always single stage and very soft. I open both doors and hit it really lightly with a white pad and 106ff, usually 1000rpm or so. Sometimes it requires a bit more grunt but that usually does it. I've never seen it cloud up like you mentioned though, it's always just single stage paint in my experience?

I actually took an after of that spot, but it didn't turn out great.

Ya, I had some wax residue on there. :)

Nica, I like them a lot. I'll post a bit more on em later.
