FANTASTIC idea for repeat business.

A colleague mentioned this the other day and I thought it was brilliant.

When you finish every detail, take several pictures of the car. Select the most attractive one--a low stance which captures the reflection of the paint and nicely dressed wheel wells looks best. Six months later, send that picture to the customer with a note saying..."Remember when your car looked like this? We have openings this and next week."

Sounds like blackmail.... I like it.

I guess the next step is to get a picture of their kid from their infancy years and mail it to them with a note that says "Remember when your kid couldn't talk... we have openings any night this week."

That is a good idea, in fact it's been discussed before along with sending thank you notes a week or so after the detail.

:woot2:

I wonder who this collegue was... I have been doing this for a short while and the response is very positive!

Good idea, I've thought about doing that too. Maybe I'll start giving it a try.

If not on a regular schedule I typically just ask them when they want me to come back and give them a once a month, 3 months or 6 month options to see how serious they are.

Then they will be checking your out on the local Meghans Law list.....:har:

The milk man has that covered. Wait a minute, we don't have milk delivery service anymore. That's for the UPS man then. :)

Huh... great idea. I was actually thinking about something similar, but with email and a link to the photo of their car on my web site. Same idea though, different medium.

For repeat customers, I was actually thinking about doing a single hot photo shot of their car as a take-away, with date and my logo or something. But, only for maintenance customers or super high-end cool car.

Also, anyone ever try sending a small bottle of quick detail with client? I've been kicking it around as a several of mine aren't aware of such products. I tested it with a customer/friend about a month ago, saw him the other day and he thanked me for it saying it really kept the car popping after a quick wash. Probably cost a buck or two with small squirt bottle.
