EZ Detail Brush Handle Snapped Off After only a Few Uses

They are probably all from the same Chinese factory.

This item has been poor since day one. I don;t think I've met anyone with anything good to say about it after about a week.
....I guess I'm one of the odd ones then. I bought mine from AG before the Daytona was introduced and have been using it regularly on my own vehicles ever since with no issues. In fact, bristles have begun to wear out (as I would expect after this much use) and I was thinking of replacing it. ....not sure with what now.

Consider me lucky. I've had mine for over a year and I've done well over 100 wheels with it. It is getting weak and bends really easy, but I'm not going to replace it until it snaps. I probably just jinxed myself!

I use something like this:

Most all brushes will work, but you can't get behind the spokes with those brushes

Making a note to self.

Develop a reliable and durable easy detailing brush and have it made in USA with quality materials and sell it for $25 with a lifetime warranty.

We go through them like water at the shop...it's a horrible design IMO.

I talked to Max of autogeek about a design that I would like to see at SEMA, but I know that my requests are one of ten million. I am sure for most people the ezdetail brush does just fine...we are a small minority to say the least.

Joe - Do you keep buying them after they break or what? I bought a second one a long time ago thinking the first one that broke was a fluke. The second one broke even quicker so I'm done wasting my money. I've got a new Meg's distributor that opened up shop a mile down the road and thankfully they carry a similarly styled brush that I've been using and it's a warrior when it comes to durability. Pretty inexpensive as well. I don't know that it's the greatest, but for the money it sure beats buying a new EZ all the time.

By the way, how's the new shop treatin' ya?

Wow...quite a little discussion I sparked.

I bought it through Detailed Image, but thank you Autogeek for looking to stand behind your product!

I sincerely love it, but someone please redesign it with a material more malleable that WON'T break in two.

I have 8 of them only thing I have lost was a cap or 2. But I dont bend them or used them on heavily soiled wheels. For that I have the similary style cheaper ones.Which have the stiffer wire and a little more aggresive bristles. I also recently got one of the ACE POWER stiks.Which I love

Yep, just keep buying them...no other option that I am aware of...

New shop is great so far....so nice washing inside in the winter. :D

i stopped using my ez mini and my daytona speedmaster(essentially same thing, but a couple bucks more and red)

they both seem to be susceptible to breaking at any time. they feel pretty weak and bend too easily the more i use them. im sure in a few more bends it will snap like overexerted aluminum. i should mention ive never bent them or even applied too much pressure on them ever. i just lightly agitate and rinse off. pretty disappointing product.

my ace powerstick does a better job on the wheel barrels and i use swissvax brushes to clean wheel faces now. only problem with the powerstick is it gets my brand new makita drill dirty.

Update:

Autogeek generously sent me a Daytona wheel brush to try out. I will be putting it to the test this weekend. A big thumbs up to them for wonderful customer service, even though I did not even buy the brush from them! Now there's to making a happy customer!

What the heck!! Thats wild customer service from them :)

We stopped using them as well. Love the brush, hate the handle. Instead we use this natural bristle brush:

Cheapest i've found them is from Stoner's Direct. The bristles don't last as long but the handle never gives, plus, you can get three of them for the price of one EZ brush.

I keep these in my arsenal aswell .I have the large and small . I pick them up at the local PBE store. I also ordered a couple of the raceglaze brushes .I just have to see how they hold up.

quick question-does home depot or any other stores sell natural bristle brushes to clean with?? they really arent at any auto parts store, I would like something soft enough to agitate but not scratch.

This is the exact same brush I've been using. I got it from my new Meguiar's distributor in town. Works great not only to get behind wheels spokes, but also in the wheel well areas.

I'm with you on this one. Bums me out as that was the only brush i had to clean behind the wheels.
