Lets start this off with what was supposed to be a new car prep…yeah, right!!!! This car had about 500 miles on it at the time of the detail I believe. Maybe washed a couple of times at most. The damage to the paint was pretty drastic! Being super soft paint, I can see how just a couple of washes would induce this type of damage. What I didn’t expect was the gnarly buffer haze and trails on the driver door!!! So what was planned to be a 4 hour new car prep, turned into a 12 hour paint correction job!

Moving onto the process:
-clean wheels with chemical guys Diablo and a EZ detail brush, rewashed with chemical guys wash and gloss
-I then pre-rinsed the car, and then did a CGWG wash, with a quick dry to get MOST of the water off
-Following the wash, I clayed the car with megs blue and ONR as lube. There was a good amount of dirt and contaminants on the paint.
-I taped up the car and figured out a process that would work out well, got it!
-I went with 105 on a cyan pad, then menzerna 203 on a tangerine pad, followed by FPII on a black pad, then BFWD on a finishing pad.
The end results were the owner calling me up the next day saying “the car looks so good, I think you should be the one to wash it from now on”. Unfortunately, I don’t do washes only, but that was a nice thing to hear from your client!

On to the pics!

Before condition: This is what the whole car was like:

And then we come to this little doosy! – looks like there was a scratch that just didn’t want to come out…LOL

Here we have a 50/50 of the “scratch area” after just the compounding. The owner came out at this point and I showed him the difference and he says to me “so you really do know what you are doing” HAHAHA, we had a good laugh over that one!

After the 203 on tangerine hydro session, I pulled it out for a wash to rid the car of the compound and polish dust.
