Lets start this off with what was supposed to be a new car prep…yeah, right!!!! This car had about 500 miles on it at the time of the detail I believe. Maybe washed a couple of times at most. The damage to the paint was pretty drastic! Being super soft paint, I can see how just a couple of washes would induce this type of damage. What I didn’t expect was the gnarly buffer haze and trails on the driver door!!! So what was planned to be a 4 hour new car prep, turned into a 12 hour paint correction job!

Moving onto the process:

-clean wheels with chemical guys Diablo and a EZ detail brush, rewashed with chemical guys wash and gloss

-I then pre-rinsed the car, and then did a CGWG wash, with a quick dry to get MOST of the water off

-Following the wash, I clayed the car with megs blue and ONR as lube. There was a good amount of dirt and contaminants on the paint.

-I taped up the car and figured out a process that would work out well, got it!

-I went with 105 on a cyan pad, then menzerna 203 on a tangerine pad, followed by FPII on a black pad, then BFWD on a finishing pad.

The end results were the owner calling me up the next day saying “the car looks so good, I think you should be the one to wash it from now on”. Unfortunately, I don’t do washes only, but that was a nice thing to hear from your client!

On to the pics!

And then we come to this little doosy! – looks like there was a scratch that just didn’t want to come out…LOL

Here we have a 50/50 of the “scratch area” after just the compounding. The owner came out at this point and I showed him the difference and he says to me “so you really do know what you are doing” HAHAHA, we had a good laugh over that one!

After the 203 on tangerine hydro session, I pulled it out for a wash to rid the car of the compound and polish dust.

Here is what the car looked like in the last little bit of daylight available…I ran down two streets trying to find some direct sunlight, but no luck.

looking good eric. you went mia for a little while. ahahaha . . . . . texted one day and never got a response.

Keep up the good work.

no specific...I actually still use both, hydro and uber...different paints. Like right now...on this toyota I tried out hydro blue vs uber orange. hydro removed more and finished out SLIGHTLY better, but the other toyota I did it was opposite..
