Edge 2K adapter issue..

I just got off the phone with Aaron. First of all, excellent customer service. He was extremely helpful and very willing to listen and try to understand the problem. He seemed very eager to solve this issue. He is also sending me a new adapter next day at no charge.

He is also sending me a newer version of the adapter where the crimp is deeper, wider and also more centered. He said that should fix the problem. He also asked me to send in my previous adapter so they can look more into the cause of these malfunctions. I will do so happily!

Aaron was very helpful and apologetic about the situation. I will definately continue to give the my business just based on the fact that they are so anxious to try and solve this problem. :2thumbs:

You beat me to it! I also just got off the phone with Aaron and Id also like to mention the customer service from Aaron@Edge is nothing short of phenominal. It is such a rarity these days to get that kind of service. I had a very good conversation about the Edge sytem and the engineering behind it. Im very confident that the adapter issue will be solved.... matter of fact Im sure it will be. Edge now has a customer for life. :2thumbs:

I also found out that there are a LOT more of these adapters on the market then we think. Something to the tune of 1/2 a million! So the few issues that have happened are really just a drop in the bucket... in other words they are extremely rare. Even though its a rarity Aaron seemed genuinely concerned. Again, excellent customer service!

Aaron is overnighting me a replacement today. :woot2:

Glad to hear you feel the same way about it as I do. It was very reassuring to talk to Aaron as he spoke with conifdence about the product. He also mentioned the numbers and the rarity of the problem to me as well. I had no idea!!

Once again :2thumbs: to Aaron and The Edge products!!!

Glad to hear everything is coming up roses for you guys!! I haven't even had to call Aaron to this point but having read about the customer service he gives already has me locked in for life. Problems happen it's a fact of life. What really seperates the men from the boys is who sticks around and who runs when the spit hits the fan.

I have had my adapter for about 20 uses and no problems. I did encounter problems with the durability of the flat pads as compared to the waffle pads I use now. The waffle pads are much more durable with less sling. The flat pads seperated from the plastic disc inside and flew off the rotary.

I have also noticed what seems to be a build up of grease in the center around the adapter when polishing?

I don't think that's grease. It's probably polish. It turns black from coming in contact with the metal of the adapter.

I thinks grease. I've noticed it too. It's probably from the centrifical force pushing the adapters lubrication out.

It's polish, it happens when the pad gets over loaded, over wet, or you are using to much polish. the first two being the result of the latter.

the chuck does not need lube.

you have to remember that Pads don't last forever. If you are using speed 6 on a PC you will tear them up faster. That's why Megs doesn't reccomend speed 6. If your using a rotary Edge claims their pads will last approximately 15-20 vehicles.
