First thing, if your ebay account is hooked up to a credit card or bank account, cancel the card or call your bank's customer service and disconnect your account from Ebay. I'd do the same with your PayPal. Explain the situation to them.

ebay phone numbers - yes they have phone numbers!

#408-376-7400

or

Another Number

Here is a live chat with ebay reps LINK

I actually created another account and reported it. I'm hoping something happens SOON. I've been calling my bank to see if anything has been used...

STRESSFUL

Call Ebay with the numbers I gave! Dont make another account!

Call the bank and DISCONNECT your account number from EBay. Or have them freeze it or something. Explain the situation.

You have the ability to fix this instead of waiting around pulling your hair out.

I tried calling............It just says click "LIVE HELP" on EBAY
I did, and it said there was a 45 minute wait for the next rep.

:bawling: Just stick it on speaker and wait. While waiting, I'd call your bank on your cell and work with them to disconnect your account or something. And try using the live link on the computer that I posted.

You can do 3 things at once!

Wehave 2 different cards for our account. My wife, and Mine. My wifes has a different number than mine. I use mine for all online transactions, internet, website, etc.....
I guess I can just cancel my card all together, and update my card info to my wifes for my ISP, and website.....Screw ebay all together....just cancle everything all together with them.

Chris,
I'm so sorry that this has happened to you :(
But if you call your bank & card company, they will be able to advise you how to handle the accounts & protect yourselves. Sadly, you're probably not the first situation like this. :(

Sorry to hear this has happened. Did you by chance get an email saying someone had tried to access your account and then had a link in it to click? If so that is why you are having this problem. That is what is referred to as a phishing email and even though it may have looked official and had the paypal/ebay logo it is a scam. No matter what you should never clink any link in an email no matter how much the email looks official. I always forward those to e bay or paypal so they can take care of them.

I am sure most of you already knew all this but figured it might be good for someone who may not know better. I have seen this happen to many people who simply did not know any better.

Richard

I have heard that some of these Phishers have gotten better by instead of starting out with "Dear member" have actually started out with the members REAL NAME.
Kinda scary

Account fixed...passwords changed....

The hacker listed some 2004 Mercedes RAPIDO 986M EuroSprinter 316CDi A-Class

they were all deleted, as I had 20 messages about it, half calling my names and I'm a SCAM...Blah blah blah...........They also listed AND SOLD a van and camper to someone

I'm scared now....GEEEEEEZZZZUS
