Yeah, how about that, termigator; just wrong!
One thing: I never toss a product, and I never sell one. If I have something that I think is good, but not for me, I usually part it out and send samples to people who ask about it in threads. Sometimes I'll send most of a can or a bottle, if I'm feeling generous and looking for shelf space. I gave away a whole bunch of stuff last month, and I still have waaaaaay too much. If I have something that I think is not very good, I give it to co-workers and non-Autopia n family. I have a whole can of (old formula) Gold Class that I'll never use; I'm going to give it to my brother in law.
IMO, these waxes are all essentially the same in appearance:
Mother's Cal Gold Natural Carnauba
Natty's
#16
P21S
S100
Meg's DC Step 3
Collinite
I've had all of them, and sent them to Autopians. Of them all, my favorite are definitely the Natty's and the Mother's, for the smell, ease of use, and superior jetting. My least favorite is the Collinite, the Marque d'Elegance. I think it's the product I was most disappointed in, out of everything I've ever tried... probably because I had high hopes for it. The other three I put in the middle; very good, but I won't use them because I have other products I prefer.
Remember, though, that parsing the difference between products is highly subjective. You kind of have to want to find a difference. When I used to listen critically to stereo equipment, I could pretty much get the sound right with statistically signifigant accuracy. I've found that when I report what I see, others will say that they see the same thing... but if we like different things then we will disagree!
I once waxed half my car with #16 and half with #26, and I asked a dozen people, not if they could see a difference from half to half...
I asked if they could tell, did I do the split left to right, or front to back?
Only one person, a wholesaler who made his living taking old cars and rehabilitating them for auction, got it 100% right, that it was left to right and the passenger side was definitely darker and deeper looking. No one else could see the difference. Bob wanted to know what I used, and when I told him he knew what I was talking about.
