Drove the new 2006 Lexus GS!

No offense, but this is like wax and I don't think that you can tell me what I see. I'm also not alone in this assessment.

I guess I feel strongly about this because the GS is much smaller and sportier. The Maxima is really fat looking.

The lines on the back of the car's rear windows are cleaner and more modern in design and the GS does not have the butt-ugly rear Nissan tailights but modern angular ones.

You may want to see one in person, the web pics do not do it justice.

Speaking of the GS300. I literally got back from Pohanka Lexus In Chantily with my Dad taking delivery of his Brand new 2006 GS300 (Silver on black interior). No nav or ML. I think the line of the car are sweet and the interior is superb. They had both the 06 and the 05 GS models in the showroom and there is a tremendous amount of improvements they have made as far as features and styling of the exterior and interior. Keep in mind that my dad just got rid of his 04 TL after only having it for a year becuase of the poor quality the had. Hopefully this Lexus will hold up without any probs at all. Little thing I noticed about the car is that ALL the interior lights and even the LICENSE plate lights are Xenon! :) The intelligent key is pretty cool as well.

Sorry no pics as we were driving home in a "blizzard" of snow. :( Wish I could start detailing it. Guess I have to hold off for a week or so till the roads clear up.

I plan on doing like I did to his TL.

Clay, Klasse AIO, Zaino and more Zaino.

And of course I will be including pics when I get done!

Good: They are already at the dealers (display only)

They had a M35x (AWD version) and a M45 Sport at the Infiniti Dealer in my neck of the woods.

My preference: M45 Sport.

No question there, the 5 series is the undisputed champ in that segment combining handling with a comfortable ride.

Too bad it is also the undisputed champ in ugly. Everyone involved with the exterior redesign should be given their walking papers.

Thank you Scott! I simply don't know what people see in these cars. They look cheap even though the price went up.

Ever drive one?

The wheels kill the car, put on 18's or 19's and its a changes the stance, looks much better. The new m5 looks amazing, but i also like the 7 series a lot which many people don't.

It already happened I think. I remember hearing the head designer that help come up with the New Z4, 5 and 7 series designs was fired. I think he works for Chrysler now or something. Someone else can correct me if im wrong. (Which I know some parts I am.)

Maybe they should all be sterilized too so they can't soil the gene pool. How anyone could ugly up the 7 series they way they did is beyond me. I have a customer who has a 750, Z8 and M1 and he refuses to trade in the 750 because he hates the new 7 series.

I agree. I'm glad your Dad chose silver on black combo. It works very well. I was hesitant at first since I live in the South and black leather can get hot but I don't have a problem since Lexus has such powerful and cold AC. The GS is even better as it has airconditioned seating now.

Chris Bangle was moved to a position where he would not directly effect the design of the cars but wasn't fired. I admire BMW for taking some chances with the design of their cars BUT, I think that there just has to be some other way to be different.

Have I driven one? Not this generation but the drive would be pointless for me. I have to find it at least remotely attractive of blinding fast (insert M5 here) to even consider owning it. I can't come close to buying an M5 so.....
