Don't use Zaino CS on Your Windows

Don't know what it is... but as for applying too much I followed the instructions to a "T"... and I also did a Z8 wipedown after.

The only other product I've used on the windows has been NXT Glass cleaner and Z6.

I posted this because I wanted others to benefit from my problem and hopefully avoid it. If you don't have that problem then that's great.

I didn't post to argue over the validity of my claim. To me it's fairly simple:

Before CS- No fogging

After CS- fogging

I will not use it on the windows anymore... but that's me.

Perhaps I shouldn't have posted.

Nothing wrong with posting but contacting the vendor first is normally the best route. With that stated, the reason for a forum like this is to discuss products, their usage and their problems.

It pretty difficult to use too much of CS, so that's not the problem. Also you stated you used per directions.

To solve a problem one must analysize all factors that may have caused the problem.

When a problem is isolated to a user or in your case the windshield and not other glass on your car. one should look at the situation on why it occurred only on the windshield.

Since CS is able to top all cured LSP, I do not believe that if your glass was treated with such, that this is not the culprit.

Applied over something Like Aquapel or Rainex was not tested by me because I do not use this products. This is where Sal may have been some help. He is very anal about testing or having someone test every detailing technique.

I will assume that the glass was clean and dry.

You might try cleaning the glass with alcohol and re-apply CS on a small portion that is not in your visual field and see if it re-occurs. If not, then something was on the windshield that does react well with CS. Try to recall and let us know.

This way we all learn and can prevent repeating your difficulty.

Safe (OEM glass) and an excellent cleaner and glass protectant. The abrasives are less aggressive than every polish/compund I ever tried.

Yep, and I use SG or UPP or AJ on top of AIO for the glass as well.

Yeah I had just washed the car and then I did two coats of Z5 pro on the paint and then I did the CS on the paint and finally the windshield.

Although, I hadn't used Z5 pro or Z2 or anything on the windshield before that. I only used NXT Glass cleaner and a spray of Z6.

Perhaps I should have used Z5pro first before the CS? I don't know.

I didn't intend for this to reflect negatively on CS... just wanted to help others. But I can see where it may look that way. I think that the idea of e-mailing them first is good... I will do that from now on.

If you have ZAIO, I'd go over the windshield with that, then try CS again over it. That way you know there is nothing on the glass that may interfere with CS bonding to it.

Imatk, you did nothing wrong. You had a problem and this is one place to discuss it.

Seasoned Autopians will try to help.

"Find me a perfect product with a 100% track record and I'll prove to you that its useless or not used by anyone."

Just a random thought here. Some wiper fluids have RainX or similar products in them. Any chance somethiing like that was a factor here?

Sealants work great on windows. Think of it as a longer lasting rain x.

Greg

if you put it on my windows Greg.. which idk haha.. but i haven't experienced any problems with fogging up when there is snow ice sleet / water on it. :xyxthumbs to CS very durable thus far!

This is completely situational. If this were Turtle Wax nobody would be saying, "Oh dear please, before you sully the prestigious Turtle Wax name get answers from The Great Tortoise himself!"

You wouldn't get the owner/developer of the product on the phone either if it were Turtle Wax.

I detailed a durango today that a good friend has. I applied CS to all the paint and to the left rear window. I think rain tomorrow so he is gonna see if any issues.

That's the siliiest thing I've heard today... maybe all weekend. In reality it's better to first call the manufacturer of any product to ask what happened. If you get no satisfaction then put up a post about it, if they get to the bottom of your question and you feel the need to let everyone know then post it by all means. Except now the post can reflect the problem, the apparent cause of the problem, user or product, and the solution. THis way everyone has the right info and can benefit from it.

Gee, here's a stupid question... Did you ever think of calling Zaino to see what they have to say?

Many people probably do not realize that 24/7 Customer service exist at Zaino. Many products sell you a bill of goods and you're on your own when a problem crops up. :nixweiss
