:think2I see new ONR threads all the time. Some of the info is new, but rarely. I was just wondering if all the info was in one place and easier to find if that would help those new to ONR in their endeavor to try rinseless washing. So what do you think?

Does ONR Need Its Own Forum Section?:2thumbs:

And, just an idea, pin Scottwax's washing with ONR and ONR wheel cleaning videos at the top. Just a thought...

perhaps a rinseless wash section, there are other no rinse porducts on the market, often not talked about but still there

+1

I have finally accepted/grasped the concept and UPS is delivering some ONR today. I am ready to fully embrace this method of washing, but I think that the section should be "a rinseless wash section" and not just limited to ONR.

I too have an interest in rinse less car washes and think a dedicated forum would make it easier to disseminate information. Scottwax's guide and videos are great starts but I still find myself w/ other questions. This would beat having to dig through lots of other posts while doing a search.

Edit: link to Scottwax's ONR wash guide (I hadda look deep in my subscriptions to find it):

Since others are posting "how I wash cars" threads, here is mine - Autopia.org

A washless wash subforum would be excellent

The Optimum forums are rather bereft of information and of course, just discuss ONR. There are others on the market and a 'Rinse less car wash' sub forum here would allow discussion on all products.

ONR is a great product and one of my favourites. Without it, I find professional detailing a chore. Nevertheless, I do not support this at all. I do not think this warrants a forum of its own in the least, nor do I think rinseless washing deserves one either. There isn't even a separate forum for washing, let alone a sub-forum of that.

There is no need for it.

^I'm with Holden. I'm also skeptical that it would change anything. Rather then telling people to use the search function we'd be directing them to the correct forum.

I think maybe there should be an archived thread or two about how to use it, that way it would be easy to point people in that direction when they ask about it. Adding a subforum probably wouldn't help, people still post general detailing questions in the professional detailing discussion forum. I think a rinseless wash forum would be cluttered up with too many OT posts in no time.

As a compromise, integritydetail, perhaps you could post a thread with a collection of all the ONR threads in the past and categorize them in a logical format? Then you could ask David or Tort to sticky it. I think that makes much more sense.

Go to Opt forums. Optimum can pay sponsor dues.

Create a SEARCH sticky.

I'm just sayin'.

Meow! :chill: I should have said "rinseless wash section" instead of "ONR" to be PC sorry! The idea is to help Autopians find info, not Optimum sell product (they are obviously selling plenty of ONR as many of us use and love it). Stop drinking the koolaid :spit:

I don't have access to the numbers, but it has to be one of the most discussed products on the forums. I notice that there is a forum for "eco-friendly detail" that has hardly anything in it, maybe a sticky in there would be good. The forums for sections of the country are rarely utilized either. I suppose it just boils down to how things are organized. If the powers that be don't see a need, that's fine. I really just wondered what you Autopians thought. Heck, I'm not the one paying for bandwidth...:chuckle:

Scott, if I do a proposal sticky for David, I'm gonna want to use some of your videos as a staple. I know you don't mind as long a proper credit is given, but I just wanted to ask your permission to use them before I put the time in. Is it all good? :thx

No need for it. If people knew how to search there wouldn't be so many multiple threads covering the same thing over and over again.:faint:

New users may not be familiar with the proper way to use search terms but they may navigate the site for a while before posting. I think the sticky idea is a good one, kind of a middle of the road thing. You are 100% correct though, if the search function was utilized, there'd be much less redundancy.

As long as I get credit, all is good. :)

When my kids get here, depending on how well I am healing from my hernia surgery, I am going to have them video me on rotary use, Opti-Seal application, etc. You can use those too, again as long as I get credit. ;)
