Do you like Zaino ????

I still use Z2 Pro/ZFX on my car and with Z8 it looks stunning.

I've tried several waxes and sealants and I seem to stay with Zaino even though I have to mix up some with ZFX, no big deal in my view.

I mean after all the polishing/prep time, what's a few minutes in mixing up some Z2-Pro/ZFX? I'm lazy, but not THAT lazy.

One day if I have more time I'll start testing a few others, but as it stands, it's still Zaino with Z8.

Besides, it lasts long, seems to do well even after several washes. But this is a car that is also garaged as opposed to being outside, so I cannot say for long term durability for those cars outside.

My only wish is that all LSP sealant mfg companies make sample bottles for those that want to try it before purchasing a whole bottle. Would be nice and a way to gain new customers.

In the past, I sent out numerous 8oz bottles of Menzerna and other products to those that wanted to try before they buy. All free as well. I paid for all product, shipping etc.

Regards,

Deanski

the latest version of CS looks better and much is slicker than the original.

1st version had a sharp look to the finish.

latest version has a deep wet finish look.

I like Z16 and Z8. Z2 and Z5 look too plastic and sterile for my taste (:nervous:). I prefer UPGP, deeper, wetter, more reflective look.

you dont have to use the ZFX accelarator though do you?

No you don't. I just use one coat of either Z-2 or Z-5. Looks as good as 100 coats of Zaino.

If you have Z-AIO there's no need for ZFX, and you can do a coat of either Z-2/, Z-5, or Z-CS.

I use ZFX just to use it up before it "expires".

I don't see what all the hype is about. I'm a Klasse user. Klasse costs less and has been around far longer, the formula only changed to accommodate new environmental laws. That's impressive.

To be fair, I haven't used Zaino. So I guess you can take what I say with a grain of salt.

Long time Zaino user here (going back to the late 90's). I still think it is a good product, but I have moved on to other sealants that, in my opinion, outperform the Z.

I do give Zaino a lot of credit though, as I personally believe that they helped create the "sealant revolution" for lack of a better term.

The amount of Zaino I can use on my car, somewhere in the ballpark of 2.5-3 coats per ounce (when using ZFX) is astonishing. It easily makes up for the "cost" by bringing the cost per layer/application down combined with the amount of time saved by being able to do 3 coats a day (if that's what you want to do).

FWIW a 16.9 oz bottle of Klasse SG runs $20.99 on Autopia's store. That's $1.24/oz. Zaino is $14.95 for 8oz or 1.86/oz.

If you add ZFX into the cost that's 19.95 for 2ml, which is 120-140 drops according to Zaino. 3-4 drops go in an ounce of polish. 20/130(avg) = 15c per 'drop'. So add 60 cents for ZFX.

If you can get 3 layers of Klasse SG out of an ounce, by all means it's 'less expensive'. Otherwise I think it's the other way around.

Klasse was my first 'real' sealant I ever used, back in 2000. I did not have good luck with it.

What are you using now, just out of curiosity? :buffing:

I have never measured the amount I use but I wouldn't be surprised if you could get 2-3 applications out of 1 oz. I apply it with a black pad on the PC and use very little of the product.

1/2 oz. does my Accord 4 door, the wheels, and all the glass. I've been told I use too much!

I usually get 2-3 coats out of 1/2 OZ (2 on a truck, 3 on a car) of Zaino.

So far in durability testing, nothing has come close to the durabilty of Zaino.

Does anyone know when was the last time Zaino had a formulation change? The stuff I have is about two years old. I'm wondering if there's been a formulation change since then.

I have to admit, Zaino is one *very* good looking sealant. It's easy to use, and Zaino's AIO is just amazing. And as you guys have said, the durability is the best around. Having said all that, in my experience, it doesn't provide very good environmental protection (in my part of the country). I know lot's of people say/have said that it's like armor as far as environmental protection, but I'm just not seeing it where I'm at. It also doesn't perform well with touchless washes (but in all fairness, most LSP's don't perform well with touchless washes). If there's been a formulaton change, I'll buy another round of Zaino to give it a shot, cause truth be told, it's really hard to beat it's look. Especially for how easy it is to use. ZAIO followed by two coats of Z2 is pretty darn hard to beat. The only sealant I've had come close is UPGP, but it takes three coats (over three days) to do it. FMJ comes close, too, but it lasts about three weeks.

I've tried Zaino...and it's good. However, I now use Optimum OS and OCW and like the Optimum products much better for looks and ease of use! I apply an LSP every 2-months so durability is a non-issue.

Pro hasn't changed recently AFAIK.

I personally need to order some ZFX, I did ZAIO and Z5P on my car two weekends ago and found myself really wishing I could have put down two more layers of Z2P or Z5P.

I have nothing to say about Zaino or Klasse other than both go a really, really, long way. I think it'd be impossible to break down the cost per coat on either, since a properly applied coat of either one would probably be less than 1/4 oz.

Yeah, it's not very substantial next to say a jar of Souveran, or Concours/Concorso, or even Mystery.

Really though, if you perform a double-blind test, no/very few people would be able to tell the difference between carnauba moose topped with Natty's Blue, and Klasse AIO topped with Vintage. With everything else being equal, it would be very tough.

My Zaino package just arrived today. I have put two coats of z5pro/zfx on so far and will top with z2 tomorrow. I couldn't hold back from all of the hype anymore. But in all honesty, I think the prep products on the one to keep up on. ie 105, uf. These are the products that really improve the looks of the car. I think this order of Zaino will be my last (freakout and buy) LSP. After about ten of them, I have learned that the difference is minimal. I have been really impressed with DWG.

OH ya!! Can I top DWG with Z2 or z5

That's all subjective. I was just referring to their usage.
