Do you find spray waxes "useless"?

Because it is a "booster wax" I wouldn't expect any long-term protection anyway. With NXT and #16 being so easy to apply already it would defeat the purpose, IMO, of it being a Quik Wax. NXT dries extremely quickly in a good climate with thin coats. It makes a spray wax almost redundant unless you are using it as a WOWO product.

I guess it's also 'quick' in the sense that even if used properly - allowed to haze - it only takes 30-60secs. NXT should be left about 30mins.

Even #16, though quicker than NXT and should only be left 1-5mins to haze (any more and you'll be sorry), requires a fast and studied technique to get it right and avoid problems. UQD is idiot proof.

Does anyone know where Presta Malco Showroom Shine comes into play here? I've been told that it performs similar to Megs M34 or Megs Last Touch.

But both of those Megs two products have different capabilities. Megs34 is supposedly body shop safe. Unlike Last Touch.

So, which is Presta Malco Showroom Shine comparable to?

Anybody can help me here?

Sorry to interrupt the thread. Maybe I need to start this question in a new thread?

i have noticed streaking / hazing with OCW when its cooler out,

like under 65 degrees......

but I use OCW as a lsp on vehicles i have detailed with zero problems

ocw streaks on me a bit even though i shake up the bottle real nice. but its all good, i just go over the car with meg's uqd and its all taken care of. not sure if the qd affects the life of OCW because i apply OCW like every other wash =D

Dont some people say use a QD while drying? Or dry and use QD to remove water marks?

Btw....never new QD's and QW's were different O_o

You can do both. I do!

Qding while drying makes the towel glide better, absorb better, and leaves fewer water-spots.

Then pickup any missed water-spots with a QD or QW. I more often finish off with FX spray wax rather a QD. As quick but better look and protection boost.

I'm fond of System One spray wax. It's pretty easy like most every other spray wax out there...wipe-on / wipe-off. Colors are slightly darkened by the wax. I've used it in the middle of winter for some added protection and during middle of July when temps get into the 90's. Dry air or humid air never makes a difference . Using the stuff every 2nd of 3rd week, a 22 oz bottle has lasted over a year.

Hi Alfisti,

Great suggestion from you, i do really appreciate it. But you know, Optimum spray wax is great one, it protects from sun damage and other environmental elements. It lasts for more then 2 months, it takes less then 15 minutes to wax the whole body of the car.

Regards,

Razor

DG AquaWax is by far the best spray wax I have ever used.

I've spent good money on Prima & Pinnacle in the past.

For $8.00 a bottle at Carquest, DG rules all!

Not only don't I find spray waxes useless I find they make regular waxes almost useless to me. I use a spray wax after every wash. My car looks and feels like it's freshly waxed every wash because it in fact is freshly waxed. Durability is a non issue when using it every wash. Time is a non issue when I can do it in five min. I can think of no reason to use a regular wax now.

I think you will be refering to Presta Spray 'N Shine. Not the Malco Showroon Shine. :)

Yes. PuDeN. You are correct. And I just realised those items I mentioned are not spray wax but more of a QD. So my post here is in the wrong thread.

Just wonder how Presta (or is it Malco) Aqua Wax compares to DG or Optimum spray waxes then. Any good, better, worse, etc.

I like Quik Wax as a weekly maintenance after washing and drying. I can do my SUV in 10 minutes with UQD. It doesn't stain trim and works on textured vinyl and glass too. It is a wowo product and I've not had any streaking issues in high humidity and low, hot and cold.

The enhanced slickness makes the car much easier to keep clean, IMO.

Not to mention it addes great beading coverage, too. I normally don't like any QDs, but UQD works great. I keep some in my Durango, to wipe off bug splatters and occasional bird ****, too.

If my car has a layer of dust on it, can I use QD to clean off the dust, and then use QW like Optimum car wax?

Or can I directly use the QW to brush off the dust and wax the car?

QWs are meant to be used on a clean surface. They don't have the lubricity to remove dust without marring the paint.

I'd use a QD or a wash depending on how dirty it is and then the QW.

So here's a question: for you guys that apply OCW or similar spray (AW, whatev) more often than once a month, how often do you seal? I'm about to order some Opti-seal and OCW, and figured on using the OCW monthly on my own car, but the OS much less often. To make that more clear, I'll be putting OCW over OS (obviously).
