Well, I'm probably in the minority here, but there are two major parts of the process that I hate doing.
Firstly, I hate claying. I've done it three times, using Pinnacle polyclay, and I have to say it's the most boring, painstaking thing I've done to a car. First, I spray the lube, then start rubbing the clay along the surface. No difference in smoothness. So I put a little pressure and start going faster. Still nothing. Finally, the clay seems to have picked something up, so I try my best to fold it over again, but the clay is too hard. I continue with the rest of the car only to find that, in the end, barely anything has been accomplished. By this time, at least two hours have gone by. I won't even get into claying while Autoint's "B" step is dwelling; the clay got super soft and damn near fell apart.
Secondly, I hate using the PC. Why couldn't everything be done by hand? I only use it out of necessity. I hate the wires that get dirty and threaten to scratch the paint. I hate having to find a place to set it and the polish down. I hate keeping the pads clean and washing them up. Worst of all, I hate polishing the lower areas of the car and the side skirts.
If anyone has any suggestions that would make these two processes more enjoyable, please share them. My guess is that I suffer from a lack of organization. It's kind of like working at a cluttered desk with left over pizza/coke cans and piles of paper littering it: nothing gets done. I really want a wheelie cart to set stuff down on, a creeper seat to work more comfortably, and most of all, some decent clay that is foldable and that actually works.
Sorry all, just a rant. I just wish everything could be as relaxing as waxing with S100, and give results as significant and as easy to see as cleaning a set of rims.
