Devil Ray Corvette 594HP #5 of 25

After getting a ride in a twin turbo Z06 that layed down 602 RWHP, not quite sure I am ready for 535 RWHP without at least some practice.

If a few stock Z06's are breaking into the high 10s in full street trim, then my customer's 535 RWHP 'Vette should be a solid mid 10 second car. Got to work up to something like that!

Just take it slow threw 1st and 2nd, and give it a little warm up in 3rd, I'm sure 3rd still has plenty of torque to pull at slower speeds. I drove a Supercharged 04 Z06 once down the street to the caldasack to take pics and I tapped it once at the owners request.......AWESOME!! about gave me whiplash with that low end torque that Maggie puts out.:woohoo:

Wow, if those ZO6 figures are correct, that is under 11% drivetrain loss. That is amazing for a RWD car. The corvette forums seem to be pointing toward 13% loss based on a bunch of stock dynos with drivetrain loss calculated off the advertised 505 crank hp.

Regardless, beautiful detail on a fantastic car!

I'd love to hear what it SOUNDS like. The appearance of the vette speaks for itself...and the care it's given!

You don't hear it you FEEL it when it cranks up. Of course I had to pull it in and out of the garage once or twice...:D

I'm still waiting to hear back from the owner so I can give real #'s, but even at those % losses, that still puts it somewhere between 515-525RWHP, also depending on how cold it was that day it was dynoed will have a big difference as well.

thats because the 'advertised" 505 is underated, not so much that the drivetrain is that efficient.

Killer car and detail work. I just joined today and am humbled by the level of work you do.

Thank you, but there's a few "whales" out there that make me look like little fish in the pond. I'm still learning and educating myself, there's so much to know about how these chemicals work it's crazy.

Okay, so I got an email back from the owner, he said on the dyno, it pulled 525RWHP and 525RWT.:bow

The owner told me they purposely tuned it down so that it would be more drivable. They could have easily tuned it more aggresively to show more HP, but he didn't want that as he wanted a drivable high HP car.

That settles it.:woot2:

i was pretty dang close...i went to wrong end of my spectrum, but i was still pretty on. its essentially a conversion of an LS2 to an LS7 and adding cams...so i can see 525rwhp on a good day.

nice car, thanks for sharing

Now the owner is emailing me saying he will probably be adding a 125 shot of NO2 in the near future, he said he doesn't want to get beat by the new ZR1.:grinno:

Wow, thanks, that's quite a compliment. Well I did have an Enzo call me up to work on, but the call got dropped as we were setting the appointment and I haven't heard back from him yet?.....:sadpace: otherwise that would have been the next one.:faint:

Okay, so what is it then Mr. Knowitall? You got something to back up your statement.

Figure the new Z06 with the 427 is 505HP putting down around 450HP at the wheels, (that's a fact btw, not my opinion) so I'm just taking a guess that this 594HP Devil Ray is PROBABLY putting down something close to 550RWHP. That's just a rough guess, not an actual fact, but please show me exactly what it is since you seem to be the expert.:bow

Maybe you can give me your thoughts while I email the owner and find out the truth. I'm putting my money something close to 550HP at the wheels.

Next time think before typing stupid comments such as " Mr. Knowitall " and dont be such a sook just because your wrong.

Harden up.

Get lost little boy, people like you waste real detailers time on this forum and make it a joke.

I'm here to show my detailing skills and help others out, and you're just hear to argue about HP #'s?? :ignore

I said its no where near 550HP at the wheels, I didnt say " Your an absolute retard, its not 550hp @ the wheels you idiot " But because someone didnt agree with you, you had to have a smartass reply, which is what you got in return.

And please, if you took your car somewhere and you wanted a figure of 550RWHP, then they put it on the dyno and it made 525RWHP, they wouldnt say " Thats close enough, whatever "

So next time instead of being an idiot and saying stupid things such as " Mr.Knowitall " and other things you were implying as a smartass, reply normally.

I don't mind someone disagreeing, so long as they can back it up or support it in some way, otherwise you're just badgering and being arguementative like a little kid.

I was just taking a guess at the HP #'s as I've seen similar #'s on the dyno at Lingenfelter as well as my own Corvette when I've had it dyno'd. You never know how cold or warm it was that day as well as what they are tuning the car to push, it could have just as easily been 550 at the wheels had they tuned it more aggresively.

Try backing up your talk next time and stop being such a chump and making blankeded agruementative chump statements.:bigups

Good day.
