Is it available through GM?

Yes adn no, they only did a short select few, 25 to be exact and they get sent off to MTI in Houston for the package. All the cars were already purchased, it's not like GM did the package and then left them on the lot to be sold to someone.:xyxthumbs

they were around $71k, and its 594HP not 594RWHP (rear wheel horsepower), the LS2 is a great engine but they arent going to get that much horsepower at the wheels with relatively simple changes. probably around 500 at the wheels - still pretty awesome

Nice info, the owner told me that the rims in the rear were 13' wide though, I know they weren't 10.5' rims, they had on 325 and they barely fit, they needed to be wider tires.

I wasn't sure if it was HP at the wheels or crank, he didn't tell me, doesn't matter, it's still like 550HP at the wheels.:bow

so they have there own chassis dyno but you you don't think it is 594RWHP (rear wheel horsepower)

why is that?

there is a lot more there then "relatively simple changes"

Bro, at $71k thats a relative deal when you compare it to offerings form Callaway and Lingenfelter.

There is a gent on my street with a Lingenfelter 427 and he claims to have paid over $120k for it. Looks completely stock, I only found out because he came over when I had a Gallardo in the driveway.

I have done numerous details for Lingenfelter clients and I believe that $120K package is a 427 Twin Turbo set up, they normally put out about 850RWHP.:spot

how much does a detail like that cost

How much do you make a year??

Just making a point, I really don't want to know how much you make a year, but I do want to know why does it matter how much a quality detail costs??

No matter what the car is I do the same quality work and charge by the hour. I had to rush this Vette as time was against me but still managed to bring it up to my standards otherwise it would probably have been an extra 2 hours worth.

If you want to know private info like that you need to send me and others a PM.:xyxthumbs

Nice work as always, Josh. :)

MTI makes some pretty bad-a$$ cars, I detailed a twin turbo C5 Z06 they did-602 RWHP on pump gas, 950+ potential on racing gas and more boost.

Dude, 594HP @ the engine is nowhere near 550HP @ the wheels.

Okay, so what is it then Mr. Knowitall? You got something to back up your statement.

Figure the new Z06 with the 427 is 505HP putting down around 450HP at the wheels, (that's a fact btw, not my opinion) so I'm just taking a guess that this 594HP Devil Ray is PROBABLY putting down something close to 550RWHP. That's just a rough guess, not an actual fact, but please show me exactly what it is since you seem to be the expert.:bow

Maybe you can give me your thoughts while I email the owner and find out the truth. I'm putting my money something close to 550HP at the wheels.

I have a customer with a modded C6 Z06 that put 535 hp to the rollers and was told that was about 590-600 hp at the crank. Supposed to get a ride in it since the mods, but he had eye surgery and can't see more than 50 feet in front of him when I was there last. Probably not a good idea to go for a ride with him, eh?

Maybe you should do the driving then?:D

stock LS2's average around 345 rwhp, give or take a few depending on the dyno (dynojet or mustang) and how much load the is actually placed on the car.

a stroker, cam, P&P heads, intake and tune are not going to add 250 rwhp. 594 rwrhp is around is close to 700hp at the crank - this is not a 700 hp car. this is a sick car but its not a 700 hp car.

my guess is this car is around 505-520 rwhp, and i would venture to say closer to the low end of that.

i'll be interested to see what the dyno numbers are.

like i said before - still a sick car minus the stickers:D

After getting a ride in a twin turbo Z06 that layed down 602 RWHP, not quite sure I am ready for 535 RWHP without at least some practice.

If a few stock Z06's are breaking into the high 10s in full street trim, then my customer's 535 RWHP 'Vette should be a solid mid 10 second car. Got to work up to something like that!
