Devil Ray Corvette 594HP #5 of 25

This is a special corvette, it's called the Devil Ray Corvette and there are only 25 of them with this package on it that MTI built.

The Devil Ray package includes, a complete Z06 body kit, custom Devil Ray rims, custom Devil Ray interior package, custom raised up cowel induction hood, Devil Ray insignia and of course the Devil Ray itself......a tuned 427' engine putting out 594RWHP and 594RWTQ all built by MTI in Houston.:woot2:

This job was a full correction of the paint as well as engine bay detailed and hand polishing of rims.

Since I was in Houston detailing and had a lot of cars to do I did not have time to fully document all my work with pics. After I was finished the sun had gone down and so I could only get some good before pics from after I clayed it.

Here's some pics of the engine bay after being detailed. I cleaned it with 303 on a MF towel and went back over the chrome with Dirtex, then put some Zaino Z16 on the black parts to help them shine just a little.

Here's a few shots of the interior after cleaned.

I dusted everything out and vacuumed, then did a 303 wipe down and cleaned and treated the leather with Zaino Z10.

Next up will be some pics of the exterior..........

Wow! I'll trade him a wife for it! Mint condition!

Ok maybe not, but amazing car! The amount of detail in that engine bay is stunning.

The car recieved the full paint correction polishing, but due to lighting and timing I just couldn't document it all, I finished this car by around 8:30pm and have been going since 4am that morning so I was pretty tired and ready to go to bed.

Anyways, here's the car outside just after claybaring it. Then I fully polished it with the rotary and an LC white pad with Menz IP to get out the swirls. Normally this would be a 10 hour process on a Vette since the clear is so hard but over half of this car had new panels and new paint on it so it was much softer and faster to correct.:woot2:

Then toped it all off with some ZAIO which is probably the longest lasting AIO I've used. Very nice to work with.

This Devil Ray 427 logo is actually a vinyl that is layed over the painted surface and then clear coated in with the rest of the panel so it does not feel like a typical vinyl that is slightly raised up, it is smooth and seemless and you can run your hand over it and not feel the lip, it's just all clear coat, it feels like it's a part of the paint.:cooleek:

I forgot to take close ups of the rims, but in this pic you can actually make out the etched in "Devil Ray" logo into the polish rims.

nice, but i think it says devil ray wayyyyy too many times all over that car

It's really very very suddle. It's only once on the exterior on each side, once on each rims which you can't even see, twice on the engine bay each side and that plaque that give the engine specs, and twice on the interior each seat and the center console and that plaque by the stick shift.

It's really all very suddle and tastefully done. If you didn't know better you'd think it came from the factory that way.

SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D

As always, your work is incredible. It's no wonder you keep getting called to detail all these cool cars.

Sweet car!!

Looks great Josh!!

Any idea what the MSRP was on that bad boy?? Just curious.

Shoot, I couldn't even tell ya, I'm sure the car was around $55K, then figure a $20K engine, plus the full Z06 body kit and a new CF hood?? Painted maybe over $10-$15K for all that or more?, then figure another $5K for the rims' (rears are 13' with 325 barely staying on, it really needed 345's). Interior was probably a couple as well. Just couldn't tell you. Probably over $100K+ with all the extra's.
