I just purchased a new car with carbon black metallic paint that I would like to have protected. I'm supposed to take ownership of the car later this week or early next week, depending on when it arrives. I read several posts on this board that recommend NOT letting the dealer do anything, and I agree. I have serious concerns with swirl marks and I know that black is probably the toughest color to deal with from a swirl perspective.
The dealer is pushing Xzilon, but I'm not interested. As many of you have said, "it sounds like snake oil". I was planning on having the car professionally detailed twice a year and not driving it in the winter. I have been told that regular wax is really only good for 30-60 days and if I wanted longer protection to look at a paint sealant. Is this true?
I want to find a true professional that knows what they are doing and someone that I can trust. I checked your Midwest Regional board, and found several posts asking the same question..."Anybody know of a quality detailer in the Cleveland/Akron area?". The best option listed was in Columbus and I'd rather deal with someone local. I'm not sure if the reason for the lack of responses was the fact of the Midwest board is near the bottom of this forum, so I figured I'm toss a post in this board.
So, does anyone know of a quality detailer in the Cleveland/Akron/Canton area? If not, how about recommendations on tracking one down? I was think of calling body shops in the area for their recommendations.
Thoughts?
