While I really like the Pinnacle Souveran, sort of wonder how Mother's Cali. Gold Paste Wax compares in adding "richness" to a finish.



Durability is not a concern, just wondering about cosmetics only in this case. Any comments?
 
Okay, thanks. I can't help but wonder about some of these other "over-the-counter" type of products when I walk past them on a regular basis.

Ive tried Pinnacle Souveran.... is great on Dark cars, Mothers was good....but...Pinnacle price is steep but look for deals, 2 for ??

or in a kit...someone mentioned in previous reply it good for "show car" only and not everyday....hummmm...I'll keep using it till my wife finds the mastercard bills...

Mothers California Gold Carnauba Wax (Paste)



-according to Choice Magazine (Australia) this is the longest lasting of the waxes they tested, by some margin;



-if applied over Mother Reflection Polish, the paint will lose some of its lustre (but not much - trade off is less shine and may be more paint protection). According to the Mothers' Representative in Australia, Mothers Reflections Polish lasts longer than this wax anyway;



-harder to apply and remove than waxes in liquid form. Nevertheless, applying using a random orbital sander is still much easier than by hand;



-remove product once it dries to a haze, do not leave on for any extended time as it becomes difficult to remove;



-when used in combination with Mother Reflections Polish, most dirt, bugs and insects can be washed off easily;



Pinnacle Souveran



-relatively easy to apply and remove by hand, although not as easy as Pinnacle Paste Glaz;



-high carnauba content (refined white carnauba wax);



-formulated for red or dark coloured cars;



-gives a good balance between protection and a deep shine;



-pure wax, no cleaning properties;



-this is a quality product. Correctly applied and removed on a properly prepared surface gives super results.

Hey Karen, I mean Arcticwhite, your original question is kind of like saying, "In terms of physical beauty, is there much difference between tennis sensation Anna Kournikova and Barbara Bush. I would rate Mothers closer to Meguiar's #26 than Blitz. Laters

Mother's carnauba wax doesn't go anywhere near Pinnacle Souveran. May protect, but not offer that shine and shimmer of Souveran......More like a #26...stick with Souveran.
 
You got it Jason. However, I have to slightly disagree with the sucking comment. Sure she's never won a tournament. She's been ranked in the top 20 in the world for a few years now. When you really analyze her playing level, she's a good to pretty good player. She's no where near the elite players though.
 
Yeah, compared to the elites, she isn't up to par....



Against myself, I think she can whoop my rear end....in tennis anyhow.
 
Which is best? (Even better, rank these waxes in order, if you can.) Mother's wax (liquid??), Meg's #26, or Blitz? I will probably hear that Blitz is the best, but why, and how close are the others?
 
I would rate Blitz the best because it comes close to Souveran, but has short comings, it stains black trim, it lacks some of the shine Souveran give the paint. Blitz provides a lot of depth/warmth, but lacks that shine. The Pinnacle Paste Glaz has a lot of shine but minimal depth, Souveran seems to combine the best of these two, depth of Blitz, and shine of Paste Glaz.



The #26 is ranked second because it is not as durable as Blitz and can cloud a little on certain german finishes (due to a certain polymer additive)



I never tried the Mother's wax, (liquid), the phase 3 or the cleaner wax one?
 
Chuckmotor, even though Souveran costs 70 bucks, keep in mind that this can of wax will last you a few years, even if you apply it every month. For something that is going to last that long, I think it's worth it. I think Don used it 26 times and still had half the can left. I took the plunge and bought a can and I can say that it applies and buffs like a dream......to say nothing of the way it will make your car look. No regrets at all. I would say that just the ease of use alone makes the expense worthwhile.
 
I would LOVE to buy a can of Souveran. But I have to save up just to buy some Klasse!

...and I need to get some dents removed (two baseballs hit my hood!! There's a couple hundred bucks!)

...And I need to buy some more polishes

...And I'll need a gallon of Final Inspection soon

...And I have to maintain supplies for all my other products (303, etc.)

...And on and on and on!
 
I have never used a wax that applies as easily as Souveran. Removal is also second to none.



I was hesitant to try it because of the pricetag, myself. Now as long as my husband doesn't open the credit card statement ...:eek:
 
Souveran is simply amazing. Well worth the price for me, especially since I didn't pay retail for it.

Souveran is a great wax as Don said. The price tag is well worth it. I forgot to mention this. This jar of wax will last and last if you apply once a month. I have used about 10 coats of the Souveran and the jar is about 19/20 full. Your mileage may vary, but you'll get you're moneys worth.



Well, I will brush up my tennis skills this weekend at the resort...Hope to see Anna on the TV (wait there is no TV....)



I too didn't pay retail for Souveran.......
